Axed Cast of "Desperate Housewives" Are Desperate for Jobs Now

What is the cast of Desperate Housewives going to do now? There’s always the fear that after 8 years on a show, the cast will have a hard time finding other acting jobs.

There’s this thing called type casting where if Eva Longoria goes to an audition, the casting director might say “Ahhh, you look like you could play a suburban housewife and seduce a much younger gardener, but you definitely cannot play any other part. NEXT!”

That’s what the cast is afraid of happening to them once their show ends. Remember Ross from “Friends?” Exactly.

Felicity Huffman, who plays housewife Lynette Scavo, fears that her future post-“Desperate Housewives” looks bleak, she tells the Hollywood Reporter, “You go into acting jail at the end of these things because it’s hard for anyone to see you as anything other than Lynette Scavo or whatever it is. So I think it is unwise to look at the carnage around you of past TV actresses and go, ‘Well it’s not going to happen to me,’ It probably will, which is why I’m planning on opening supermarkets and gas stations.”

Ooo, looks like someone can’t afford that Ostrich skin covered Birkin bag this year.

Marcia Cross is also sad to see it go, “I'm sure I'll be heaving-sobbing at the end. Because we've had marriages, babies, deaths – the whole thing. We've been through everything with these people, so it will be very, very difficult to say goodbye, without a doubt."

Though the cast all have their own ideas of how they'd like their characters to end the show.

Dana Delaney, who’s character Katherine Mayfair left for Paris during season six with her Lesbian lover, is hoping to return to Wisteria Lane, “I would love to come back for one episode just to sort of wrap things up with Katherine. I want to know that she's happy. A happy lesbian. Wouldn't that be nice?”

Felicity Huffman probably thinks having a job post-season 8 would be nice, but I’m sure she’ll be very happy for the “happy lesbian.”

Marcia Cross, who plays Bree Van de Kamp, has ideas for the final season. “I definitely want to see all my men again! I have had a lot of fabulous men and I am really hoping they come back,” says Marcia.

Basically, Marcia was a low-key slut and wants all her former flames to appear in the final season, because that isn’t awkward at all.

Moral of the story, nobody wants to leave this show. Is there a Bravo reality TV spinoff we can give these ladies? How about the Real Desperate Housewives of Cancelled TV shows?
