“Every day it gets to be a little more real," says Hatcher. The show was so popular that even former First Lady Laura Bush once jokingly announced, ”Ladies and gentlemen, I am a desperate housewife.”

Some of these shows are a no-brainer, like American Idol, but others that made the list are surprising. Like “Mad Love,” apparently that was a show? On actual TV? In America?
The most profitable show is “American Idol.” It’s revenue for 2011 was down 6% from the previous year, but it still brings in $6.64 million per half hour.
TV’s 10 Most Profitable Shows.
10. “Modern Family” ($2.13 million per half hour)
9. “Mad Love” ($2.59 million per half hour)

Anyways, the actual “Desperate Housewives” actresses haven’t spoken up much about the trial, but finally Eva Longoria has broken her silence!
“I was surprised that there was even a trial and it went that far,” Longoria told Katie Couric on Good Morning America

There’s this thing called type casting where if Eva Longoria goes to an audition, the casting director might say “Ahhh, you look like you could play a suburban housewife and seduce a much younger gardener, but you definitely cannot play any other part. NEXT!”
That’s what the cast is afraid of happening to them once their show ends. Remember Ross from “Friends?” Exactly.

Longoria wrote, "It's confirmed! We are filming our last season of Desperate Housewives! I am so grateful for what the show has given me! We always knew we wanted to end on top and I thank ABC (TV network) for giving us our victory lap! And a special thanks to (show creator) Marc Cherry who forever changed my life!"
Looks like the "for sale" signs are going up on Wisteria Lane, Longoria’s news comes at the same time that the people in suits over at ABC made it official at the Television Critics Association meeting in Beverly Hills on Sunday.

"Right now all we have is this year and next year," Denton told us. This comes just months after the ABC drama hit its all-time low on the network in April. Denton explained, "All of the actors are signed just through next year. Yeah, nobody’s signed beyond eleven (2011)."
"Yeah, this is it," he went on. "Unless they can renegotiate, this will be the last season. So, I don’t think it that’s going to be an issue. I think everybody is happy to have jobs and are really grateful."
Denton says the show is all dependent on the female cast members. "We have to get the women," Denton told us. "It’s like re- negotiating with athletes. You have to get the women locked up first but uh, we are pretty confident to at least have this year and next year."
In particular, Denton especially values his TV relationship with Teri Hatcher, who plays Susan on the show. "Thank god for Teri Hatcher," Denton told us. "Our relationship has put my kids through college.
Kidding aside, Denton says he's just enjoying the time he has with the cast. "We are a family now," he said. "After working on the pilot, it’s been 8 years. So we are all really good friends."
But he also says it's tough to lose cast members, like Nicolette Sheridan, who left the show on bad terms last year. "We lose some every year. That’s really kind of sad. And it’s hard. But to those of us who are still there. Three guys; Doug Savant, Ricardo, and myself are still you know holding down the fort. They haven’t killed us off yet. So you know those of us who are still there are really thankful for the work in this economy and just having a really good time," he said.
Every show eventually has to end, even the good ones! So is it Desperate Housewives' turn? Tell us in the comments!

Brian will "play Keith, a new contractor and charming playboy who turns up the heat on Wisteria Lane."
He's set to appear in at least 8 episodes, but who knows, maybe Mr. Megan Fox can score a permanent gig. He landed the role after meeting with creator Marc Cherry last week.
It would be great if Megan would make a cameo on the show too. She can play the psycho ex girlfriend that comes into town and burns a house down or something.

According to gossip site Zap2it.com, Williams is the front runner to play a new character on the show. And now that Ugly Betty is over, she’ll definitely have more time on her hands!
There was a reported recent casting call for an “African American mother and daughter,” but an ABC spokesperson said casting Vanessa isn’t set in stone. "We haven't really figured out what that person is," executive producer Bob Daily says. "What we're looking for is sort of a provocateur, a muckraker. We've had a couple different people filling that role over the years. When Dana Delany joined The Lane, her function was partially to sort of stir things up a little bit. I think that's really what we're looking for."
He added, "We love Vanessa Williams and I knew her name has been floated. If she were available, we would certainly be interested in talking to her. We haven't had a moment to really think about the new characters for next season. I think we're primarily looking for what kind of character we want to add next year. In terms of gender or age or race, we haven't thought that far yet. [Vanessa Williams] has come up, but nothing more at this point.”
We think she’s a perfect fit on that show!!

Bosses at ABC reportedly want to resolve the case before it heads to court, after Nicollette's lawyers said they intend to subpoena cast and crew members to give evidence if the matter goes before a judge.
Nicollette Sheridan Sues Desperate Housewives for $20 Million
An ABC source tells the Britain's Sunday Express, "Our legal team is working to get both sides together to see if they can help broker a compromise. This doesn't mean that anyone is going to hand Nicollette $20 million to drop her action and walk away but there are various incentives that might be put on the table."
As you recall, Nicollette claims Marc slapped her during an argument about a scene while she was still on the show, then fired her when she complained about his behavior.
Desperate Housewives Women Side With Creator
Nicollette's former co-workers Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross have released a joint statement expressing their support for Marc Cherry--not Nicollette.
Do you guys think Nicollette's case is a load of crap and she's just upset about being let go from the case? Or would Marc Cherry really risk his job by slapping her? Tell us your thoughts!
