Maria Menounos and her partner Derek Hough were eliminated from Dancing With The Stars last night!

How could this happen? Menounos usually gets the highest votes each week AND she topped the leader board during Monday night’s performances.

I guess making out with your partner can only save you for so long.
With semifinals only a week away and the threat of a double elimination hanging over the dance floor, week eight of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ created a pressure cooker for the remaining couples on Monday night.

To remain in the competition, they would have to excel at two full dances: an individual ballroom and, for the first time in the show’s history, a dance trio.

In the first round, actor William Levy in a tux and Cheryl Burke, wearing a long feather dress and elbow length black gloves, danced to the top of the pack. Against the backdrop of Paris, their energizing foxtrot earned a perfect score, with each judge awarding a 10.

There was a lot of drama on Dancing With the Stars this week. Maksim lashed out on the judges when they criticized his dance with partner Hope Solo. He then continued to lash out on the morning shows saying that he will not apologize because he doesn’t believe he did anything wrong.

He also managed to pick on Derek Hough claiming that he always gets paired with good partners hence why he’s won three times. Hollyscoop spoke to Derek last night at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles event honoring outstanding members of the Los Angeles community and he told us that he doesn’t care about what people say and all he is worried about is winning.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy has really been a loose cannon this week. On Monday night, Chmerkovskiy got into it with the judges, bucking up to Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. The dancer suggested Goodman retire his career. Derek Hough sided with the judges, saying they're fair.

So in an interview with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, Chmerkovskiy slammed his dancing pro costar.

“Derek Hough has been very supportive of his personal career on the show,” Maksim said. "When you say judges have been generous, with all due respect, if I had Nicole Scherzinger followed by Jennifer Grey followed by Ricki Lake, I probably would not be very upset with the judges either."
Rob Kardashian: Ugh, when can I go back to lying on my sister's couch?

43 year-old singer, Chynna Phillips is the fourth contestant to be eliminated from Dancing With the Stars, Season 13. On Tuesday night, she and her partner, Tony Dovolani, were sent home.

"I'm disappointed. I'm sad, but I have to take responsibility," Phillips said during Tuesday's results show. "I messed up, but I had an amazing partner."

She should've seen this coming, as the judges were not impressed with her performance on Monday night. She and Tony gave a Mission Impossible themed tango routine. How appropriate.

Lauren Conrad can’t go to dinner without us trying to hook her up with someone. Conrad broke up with her boyfriend of three years back in June, and we just can’t accept that someone so fabulous can be so single. But Lauren confirms with Hollyscoop, she’s flying solo, and sorry guys, she’s not looking for a relationship.

“I’m newly single, and I plan on being that way for some time,” Conrad told Hollyscoop. “Having fun.”

Most recently, Lauren has been linked to Dancing With the Stars’ Derek Hough, and the two had dinner Sunday night. But we heard it straight from the source—there’s nothing there.
It hasn’t even premiered, and Dancing With The Stars already has an injury, a controversy, and a Kardashian.

Hollyscoop asked DWTS diva Julianne Hough what she thinks of the new lineup, and she told us: “I think its great, you always see the cast list when it first comes out and you’re like, ‘interesting choices’. Once you start watching it, you’re like, ‘oh-my gosh’, and start rooting for the person you didn’t even know existed.”

And who’s Hough’s money on? “Hope Solo.”

How’d we know she’d say that? Hope happens to be paired with Derek Hough.

“I think that anybody who is with my brother might do well, just cause he’s badass,” Julianne tells HS.

We also talked to Karina Smirnoff about Rob Kardashian joining the show, and she told us:

Derek Hough is cha-cha-cha-ing his way off of Dancing with the Stars.

The three time mirror ball trophy winner is going to take the next season of DWTS off to film a movie.

He's set to play the lead role in the upcoming dance movie Cobu 3D opposite Korean pop star BoA.

He said, "People will see a much edgier side of me and these other styles of dance I'm capable of doing. I will be making it back to Dancing with the Stars in the fall.

"I'm just taking a little break and taking this chance to grow and expand a little bit as an artist. It's like I told one of the producers on the show – I'll come back with a whole new set of skills."

Sounds lame. Don't worry he'll be back--they always come back.

Derek Hough and Nicole Scherzinger are the ones to beat this season on Dancing with the Stars. The two have wowed us in the first two weeks of the competition, and now the couple’s goal is to stay on top!

Hollyscoop spoke with professional dancer Derek Hough and asked him what challenges he and partner Nicole are facing the most. “This whole season is a big challenge,” he explained. “I think the biggest challenge is doing well in the beginning and now it’s just trying to stay up there.”

Even though Derek is in his sixth season of DWTS, he doesn’t feel like he has a leg up on the competition. His mantra? “Take one dance and one week at a time. Do your best and try not to worry too much about what other people are doing or thinking. Get in your own world and try to stay there,” he said.

Many people are already putting their money on Derek and Nicole to win the whole thing, but he thinks otherwise. He told us. “I think we have a chance as far as the dancing goes. The show in the past is not really all about that, it has so many different elements. People have to want to fall in love with you and want to vote for you. I have gotten three tens and went home that same week. It’s really about what the audience at home wants and loves.”

They’re so fun to watch! And we definitely think they'll stick around for a while.
