Dennis Quaid Sues Drug Company

Misc.

Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly Buffington are suing the maker of the drug company Heparin, because they want to prevent what happened to their kids to ever happen again.

Quaid’s and Buffington’s new born twins were in intensive care after accidentally being given a massive dose of Heparin.

Their lawyer says that the twins have since recovered and "everything looks good." The bright side is that the twins are all right!

I don't blame him for suing, but I would sue the hospital and the stupid nurse. Healthcare professions should take the time to READ the medication and it's dosage before they shoot someone up with it.

absolutely support his decision to sue. He could've lost both children - the hospital staff is a bunch of morons! Hollyscoop needs to correct the spelling of his last name .... duh!

While it would make more sense to sue the hospital or the nurse, I guess they want to go after the bigger pocketbook. I guess everyone is always looking to get richer--celebrities included.

They are going after the company because of there packaging, they are identical for every dosage and they want that change so this will not happen again. Not for money he already has that.

They'll start with the drug company and work their way down. It always happens that way. This is a poor example but lets say you're eating at a restuarant, the chair gives out, you fall. You hire a lawyer to sue the restuarant in turn they'll sue the chair company and the restuarant.

they bottles look alike but one is dark blue and one is light blue. however, they are not identical.

I have a strong dislike and mistrust of the nursing profession today. Not all nurses are bad nurses but there is a great number that are. More than not. They are motivated by greed for the high salary and the status given to nurses today. A nurse is treated with such high regard because there is a great need for more. More isn't better if they are pushing through just anyone. Most nurses today are unprofessional, they dress sloppy, most smoke, and they just don't care or pay attetnion to what they are doing. Some are even high on the job. Most that I have known have no manners, and are extremely rude. They behave like a bar room harlot. I worked with a male nurse that fondled patients, sexually harassed staff and patients but when I complained I was fired not the almighty valuable nurse. Nursing today is not an honorable profession, it's a exploitation. I worked along side nurses that made serious mistakes with medication doses, and no one wanted to hear about it. I believe that the Quaids should suit to the max, and maybe when it happens enough the medical community will get up the nerve to bring back some respectability to the once honorable profession. What a shame on the medical community and how sad for patients that depend on their care and are at their mercy, it's truly scary.
