While most of us would just now be getting out of bed, wiping the Ben & Jerry’s from our mouths and putting down the Kleenex, Debra Messing is getting over her separation just fine.
A little over a month after her split with husband of ten years, Daniel Zelman, Messing has moved on to her on-screen love interest in Smash, Will Chase.
The couple attended the NYC premiere for the show on Thursday night, and after the shindig, Chase met the parents.
An insider said that Chase was sidling up to her father in the booth, while Debra sat next to her mother on the opposite side. If you need further information on their seating arrangements, blueprints are available. Not really though.
An insider confirmed to PEOPLE last month that Debra and Chase were dating. Chase also recently split from his wife.
Although they officially called it quits late December 2011, Debra is reportedly still living with her husband, for the sake of their seven year-old son, Roman.
"The decision was mutual, and they remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their son as a family,” a rep for the couple said at the time.
A source told Us Weekly:
"They have been separated the better part of the year but continue to live together in New York for Roman. It's very amicable."
As for Debra’s relationship with Chase, another source said: "They had so many scenes together and they were playing people with a romantic past so it didn't seem odd.”
