We're sad to report that iconic 50's pinup model Bettie Page passed away on Thursday. She was 85.
Page, whose later life was marked by depression and several years in a state mental institution, died Thursday night at Kindred Hospital in Los Angeles.
Page suffered a heart attack last week and was placed on life support and she never regained consciousness, her agent, Mark Roesler, told The Associated Press. Before the heart attack, she had been hospitalized for three weeks with pneumonia.
Page "captured the imagination of a generation of men and women with her free spirit and unabashed sensuality," Roesler said. "She is the embodiment of beauty."
Page didn't have any children and there is no immediate information regarding funeral and memorial services but we'll keep you guys updated as soon as we know more. Our condolences go out to her friends and family.
