Lane Garrison Gets Off Easy

August 02, 2007

Lane Garrison, the dude from Prison Break was in court today for his drunk driving case case which killed a 17-year old boy.

The Judge just made the ruling and said, "The fact that you may have some notoriety, I don't really care."

Judge Fox continued, "We don't have all the information. I intend to remand Mr. Garrison today to the Department of Corrections for diagnostics."

They are going to take him to a prison for 90 days, and shrinks are going to determine whether he is a suitable candidate for probation.

Basically, he is going to jail for only 90 days for driving under the influence and killing a young boy. So was this ruling fair?

Even though I didn't know the 17 year old I feel bad for his family and especially since that bitch Lane Garrison has money and will try getting away with it or just serve a little time especially since now it seems like there's nothing but a certain of stupid law people who let celebritys get away with many things stuff they wouldn't let regular people off with but that judge better give the victim and the family justice. It wouldn't be fair if they let him off so easy just because he is a celebrity.

I AGREE WITH YOU CLINT.

WOW! This is BEYOND discusting. A 17 year old lost his life. I think we should all ban together and put pressure on this judge. This is terrible. I HATE DRUNK DRIVERS.

Let any regular person drive drunk and kill somebody. 90 days what a joke. He knew he was drunk when he got behind the wheel. Whatever happened he is fully responsible for.LA is a joke when it comes to the law.

Classic example of why the DUI laws are a waste of time. Take away the license? They still do it. The get busted, the liberal courts decide to give them a month and half for killing someone. The only way I could see this ending is if they revisit the idea of starter breath analyzers in cars that would prevent your car from starting if you're too drunk. As much as it pains me to admit it's restricting personal rights to do that. Enough is enough w/these assclowns anywhere (not just Hollywood) getting off easy w/debauchery that kills people like DUI.

seriously, you people are really lacking on the research. he is under psychological analysis for 90 days. THAT IS NOT HIS SENTENCE! after the 90 days the judge will determine how he should best serve it. the D.A. has already stated they want at least 4 years. god damn... i found this shit on msnbc.com. it's really not that hard to report an accurate story... even if you are a "gossip" website.

Everything in this country is going to shit! If I had killed someone while driving under the influence, I'd get LIFE! The bottom line is that Garrison is an adult and should have been responsible. Everyone knows not to buy teenagers alcohol, so why did he do it? I hope others learn from his mistakes, which I'm sure are going to haunt the guy until his dying day. Ninety days isn't considered punishment, it's more like a slap on the wrist. So lenient when it comes to the rich and/or the famous! Ridiculous!

He didn't get sentenced to 90 days. He is being evaluated for 90 days. Its called a Z Case - PC 1203.03 and its allowed in the CA Penal Code. Psych and custody staff at one of the prisons will evaluate separately whether he is suitable for community based treatment or should stay in prison. Those recommendations get returned to the judge and the judge decides. If he is returned to the community, IF, he will get hit with a ton of requirements and restrictions. This isn't special treatment... its quite common especially for first time adult offenders. The prison I work for gets these LA guys so its highly likely he'll be sitting in front of one of my co-workers in the next couple of weeks...
6:29PM 08/02/07 Sad.
What a disgrace... The Justice System in this country is a joke.

marie you are a complete idiot! those kids were 17 years old. ofcourse they thought they were the coolest people on earth hanging around a 'celebrity'. they dont know better because they are young. Whats this idiots excuse for sitting behind a wheel drunk adn taking the kids with him too! what he did is just not ok!
3:27PM 08/02/07 Tasha
Marie, don't try to make excuses for this guy. Yeah it was foolish for those kids to get into a car with a drunk driver. But Lane was the DRUNK DRIVER. He could have killed anybody that night. He chose to get behind the wheel. And he's a grown man (about 25 or 26). Why is he hanging out with teenagers? I heard one of the girls was 15. What the hell is that about? It amazes me that Lindsay might actually get more time than this guy.
2:54PM 08/02/07 Marie
Those other people did not have to get into the car with someone who was drunk. They just wanted to be around a "celebrity".

Where is the outrage. All the she could have killed someone for paris. Nicole and Lindsey DUIs????? Where are you guys with your stories of friends getting killed by a drunk driver. I guess no one cares unless its a rich priviledged hollywood it girl that does it.

i dont think it has much to do with racism but more celebrity status. its actually very sad that our justice system has become a complete joke these days. people are taking things so lightly when they shouldnt. that is why these people are not learning their lessons. its because they keep getting away with it or in paris' case they make it into a circus like its a joke or something. a human beings life was taken because of this idiot and all he gets is a slap on the wrist. that is just sad

First off if the Setians had more money and were not Armenian then GArrison would serve the max. Garrison was well connected and this is bullshit. This was incredibley unjust and I am so disappointed in our justice system. Armenian kids in Glendal serve 4-6 months for misdemeanors and this "adult" kills a "teenager" gets 3 months? My old neighbor drove drunk and got into a car accident in 1988 and lost his wife. They were an Armenian couple, good people, and he got 6 years! Two years more than the max sentence...this is racism and bullshit...I am very upset...I am so sorry for the Setian family and their loss.

Never thought I would say this but I'm feeling sorry for Paris. She got 23 days almost a 1/3 of the time this guy got, and he killed someone! So you get behind the wheel of a car drunk, kill someone and in 90 days justice is served?
11:49AM 08/02/07 lanie
wow i just saw a video clip of the dad speaking. it was so sad it was that kids birthday yesterday too . he definitely got off easy.

For God's sake people, he killed someone ! 90 days is a slap on the hand. I didn't know that vehicular manslaughter now comes with a 3 month jail sentence! He may seem remorseful but that's while he's sober. Let's wait til he does it again. Granted everyone makes mistakes, but the family of this innocent victim will suffer for eternity! This guy deserves more than what he's been given.

at least he didnt get off altogether. im happy he's not going away for too long tho b/c he's HAWWWWT & i like looking at him.
11:18AM 08/02/07 my opinion
i dont think so either. he should have gotten at least a year in prison. he killed someone for Gods sake paris gets 23 days for driving with a suspended license and this idiot gets only 90 days of diagnostic for killing someone while high and drunk. thats really sad i feel bad for the parents of the victim
