Fidel Castro Dead

Deaths

The big buzz around the world is that Cuban dictator Fidel Castro has died; however, U.S. Senior Officials are saying that although his health is not in good condition, he is not dead.

Apparently, there is no unusual behavior coming from Havana, but Miami is going all wild and is ready to celebrate.

Castro has been ill for quiet some time so it would come to no shock if he actually did pass. He hasn’t been seen in public for the past year, since he transferred power to his brother.

If he is dead and they open the doors to Cuba we are booking our flights immediately!

Sources say that not only is Fidel Castro dead but so are Hitler, Mussolini and most of the U.S. presidents of the past century, including two Roosevelts and a Reagan. Apparently, Bob Hope and Lawrence Welk are also deceased, each having passed the age of 200, and Ernest Hemingway hasn't written a good book in ages.

For good or ill, Castro is/was one of the great historical figures of the 20th, and into the 21st century. Like or loathe him, that cannot be denied. I remember the droll cover of the New Yorker magazine that had Castro and Pope John Paul 2 walking across the water. Yes, Fidel has been worse than a thug, by far, but consider the evil Cuban society that was in place before him. That's what the exile society and culture of south Florida refuses to recognize, generations later. Meanwhile, in the land of the free and home of the brave, the U.S. government denies most of its citisens and residents the right to freely visit Cuba, an injunction that commonly leads American tourists to trek to Canada in order to enjoy dirt cheap winter vacations through flights out of Montreal and Toronto to Havana and the beaches beyond. This is hypocrisy, writ large. A denial of Americans' rights. Meanwhile, U.S. citizens are not denied the right to travel to quite a number of vastly worse human rights abusing nations than Cuba. Here are three to consider: Burma, Zimbabwe and hey - what about that there China, where the next summer Olympics games will be held. Will love watching the mews coverage of those events from whichever TV network has the American broadcast rights. Meanwhile, lecturing to the world about conditions in Cuba amid the - possibly - waning times of the Castro era - just panders to a politically strong - they dream - but ultimately dysfunctional collection of innate bigots. It says much about the state of political affairs in the U.S. today that all those "suspects" corralled in the Guantmolo military base are on U.S. soil in the east end of Cuba. Any other self-respecting and advanced democracy in the world would be ashamed of itself for tolerating such a hibernation of human rights. Americans love to imagine that they are the fine champions of just causes. In great measue, they are. But nowadays it seems as if they have taken leave of their senses, to a great degree. And iit's not like there is no history of such a pattern. Late to come into the first World War, even more horidly late to join the fray in World War 2, the U.S. sometimes just does not seem to do the right thing - though it thinks itself almighty, nonetheless. My country - right or wrong - is not a proper concept. It is a fool's precept.

WRONG The genral Cuban Population although not happy with current system, have no alternative, infact they don't even have any ideas about what the alternative to same BS dia por dia for 45+ years. It's the ambitions of Cubans in the EEUU who somehow think that moraculously a democratic system with spring from the crap thats there now. IGNORANCE & DELLUSION based on your vengance. Get over it lo mismo por lo mismo

Cuba has a better medical system than the United States and a better educational system. Crime is almost at zero percent, save for prostitution and other petty crimes. Fact is, Castro is a modern day Robin Hood who has stood up for the little guy and gal and won!!! He is not the villain that he has been made out to be by the U.S. Government which is in league with some of the worst human rights abusers in the world, including all of our allies in the Middle East, Israel, African Nations, Central America Nations, South American Nations, and China: Crooks, them all!!! And look up the 911 like inside job known as Operation Northwoods via a web search. The CIA came up with it, and admit to it!!! Operation Northwoods was a plot designed to kill American Citizens in a mass staged series of terrorist attacks which the U.S. Government hoped to blame on Castro in order to jusify a U.S. invasion of Cuba!!! That was revealed through the Public Information Act...and if that weren't all...the U.S. sponsored the bombing of a Cuban Civilian Passenger Airliner, killing all aboard, including women and children and whole families!!! They, the American Government, know who the Cuban exiles...who were behind the bombing are, (two ex-CIA employees) and where they are, but they refuse to hand them over to the Cubans for prosecution!!! So much for the war on terrorism!!! Now, who did you say is the bad guy here, cause it sure ain't Castro???!!!

FYI: That bombing of the Cuban Airliner occured in 1976!!!

I would go to Cuba perhaps someday, but the U.S. Government has made it illegal!!! If you knew the law as it currently stands...and the history of this situation, you'd already know about the travel restrictions!!!

Grandma convicted in child’s drowning By Carrie Petersen Albany Democrat-Herald Mary Lynne Meade-Morris was found guilty this morning in Linn County Circuit Court of criminally negligent homicide in the drowning death of her 15-month-old granddaughter. Meade-Morris, 60, had been indicted on a charge of first-degree manslaughter, but Circuit Court Judge John McCormick found her guilty of the lesser charge. In July 2006 Meade-Morris was living with her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Justin Carr, and their two daughters in Albany to help with child care. She was babysitting on July 21, 2006, when her youngest granddaughter, Joelle Constance Carr, went out the back door and drowned in an above-ground pool. Meade-Morris saw the toddler in the water, pulled her out, called 911 and did CPR until medics arrived. During closing arguments this morning, prosecutor Reed Dinsmore outlined the circumstances surrounding the drowning: Meade-Morris had in the past been a substitute school teacher for elementary-age children and had taught swimming lessons for parents and small children. She was aware of Joelle’s ability to climb and her fondness for the outdoors. There was a lot of noise in the house with fans and two TVs on. Meade-Morris left the back door partially open and blocked it with a fan, but the door was easily opened further and Joelle could climb through the screen door. Earlier that morning, Joelle had apparently followed her sister, then 5, out of the house and her sister put her in a playpen on the front porch, where the grandmother later found her. The older sister had gone to a neighbor’s house, but when police responded to the drowning and asked where she was, Meade-Morris wasn’t sure, Dinsmore said. Meade-Morris spent a lot of time on her computer each day, and evidence showed that she had been on her computer, involved in online discussions, that morning, the prosecutor said. Defense attorney Paul Kuebrich said that Joelle climbing into the backyard pool was not a “foreseeable event.” She had tried to climb the pool ladder the night before and was stopped by her parents but no one informed the grandmother of the incident. He said the death was a horrible tragedy but not criminal. Meade-Morris was also found guilty of second-degree child neglect for allowing Joelle to leave the house unattended the day prior to the drowning. A neighbor found Joelle, and it took a half an hour for her grandmother to notice she was missing.
