We just saw his hilarious Comedy Central roast of Charlie Sheen, and only a couple of months later, comedian Patrice O'Neal has passed away.
The performer died on Monday after suffering a stroke in October that was related to his diabetes. The Charlie Sheen Roast was his final performance.
He was a regular guest on the Opie and Anthony SiriusXM radio show, and the host, Gregg Hughes, confirmed his friend's death via Twitter:
"Yes it's true that our pal Patrice O'Neal has passed away. The funniest and best thinker i've ever known PERIOD. #devastated."
O'Neal was a native of Boston, and at the time of his death, he was based in New York City. He appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Late Show with David Letterman. He also had guest appearances on Arrested Development and The Office.
O'Neal's personal website is temporarily unavailable, but a statement on the site reads:
"Out of our love and concern for Patrice and his family, we ask that you please respect their privacy during this difficult time."
O'Neal had a variety of good friends and comedians in the entertainment industry, and they all took to Twitter to celebrate his life and mourn his death.
