Columbo Star Peter Falk Passes Away at 83
Veteran and iconic screen actor Peter Falk has passed away at the age of 83.

Falk is best known as the star of the TV series “Columbo.” Falk played the titular character, a rumpled absent-minded police detective. Falk created the slouchy detective cliché with his catchphrase, “one more thing…” Columbo lasted for 7 seasons in the 70’s and returned to television occasionally from the years of 1989 to 2003. Falk and his character were household names for almost 30 years.

He was nominated for an Academy Award twice, in 1960 for “Murder, Inc” and again the next year for “Pocketful of Miracles.”

A TV star and Oscar nominated film actor Falk is also an unsung comedic hero starring in the hilarious “The In Laws” and “Murder by Death.”

Younger audiences may know him best as the grandfather and the narrating voice in “The Princes Bride.”

A family statement said Falk, “died peacefully at his Beverly Hills home” on Thursday. He had been suffering from dementia and Alzheimers disease.
