Bernie Mac Passes Away

Comedian Bernie Mac, who was hospitalized for pneumonia, has passed away. He was 50 years old.

"[He] passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his rep said. "No other details are available at this time. We ask that his family's privacy continues to be respected."

Mac was admitted to the hospital on August 1 with pneumonia. Original reports suggested he was going to be released later that same week because he was in "stable" condition.

This is sad news. When I first read about Bernie Mac getting hospitalized, I thought he'd be fine. Life can really be unpredictable. I loved Bernie Mac's work. Too bad he got pneumonia and not that dingxiu and people like him who posted that ridiculous and stale ad. Rest in peace, Bernie. Thanks for making us smile and laugh in movies like Mr. 3000, Charlie's Angels Full Throttle, and my favorite among your movies, Guess Who.
