Dax Randall Shepard was born on January 2, 1975, in Milford, Michigan and made his on-screen comedic debut in Cheaper by the Dozen (2003) alongside Steve Martin. One year later, Dax landed his first substantial role opposite Seth Green and Matthew Lillard in Without a Paddle (2004) followed by voicing the characters of Asa and Zack in the animated TV series King of the Hill (2004-08).

In 2006, Dax's career began to pick up speed in part of memorable performances in Idiocracy with Luke Wilson, Employee of the Month alongside Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson and Let's Go to Prison opposite Will Arnett.

Dax continued banking off his comedic skills in Baby Mama (2008), Old Dogs (2009) and When in Rome opposite his future-wifey Kristen Bell. Later in 2010, Dax expanded his solely comedic resume to include drama when he landed his big break playing Crosby Braverman in the TV series Parenthood (2010-13).

The comedian's most recent projects include, the action comedy Hit and Run (2012) with Bradley Cooper and Kristen Bell as well as the drama The Judge (2014) alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Vera Farmiga.

Dax dated actress Kate Hudson briefly in 2007. They moved in together, but once people found out about them shacking up, the two split up a short time later.

November 2007 - Present

Dax and Kristen Bell announced they were engaged in January 2010 after three years of dating. But, there were no wedding plans, because the two vowed not to get married until marriage equality was a reality.

The couple went on to welcome their daughter Lincoln Bell on March 28, 2013.
