Extortionist's Girlfriend Cheated With Letterman

New details have just surfaced in the extortion case against David Letterman. The New York Post claims to have proof from former Late Show employee Stephanie Birkitt that she had sex with her boss. And it’s from her diary entries!

Sources say David Letterman and Birkitt enjoyed romantic hikes last fall at his ranch in eastern Montana where he was married in March, while her boyfriend Halderman, stayed home in Connecticut.

Stephanie would tell her boyfriend that she and Dave were just friends, and the relationship was simply platonic. The Post also claims that at least once a week Letterman drove Birkitt to the Norwalk CT home she shared with Halderman since 2004. He even offered her a job as his personal lawyer after she graduated from Benjamin Cardozo Law School.

But soon Halderman realized she was lying when he read Birkitt's diary in December, and learned that she was having an affair with Dave.

Dave apologized to his wife publicly on the show last night, adding "No, I'm not having sex" with any staff members currently, and saying, "You can't be victimized by criminals."
