David Cook really seems like an overall nice and humble guy. He showed his humanitarian side before he was even named this season's winner when he showed up to visit finalist Luke Menard in the hospital.
Luke, who made it to the top 24, was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin's Lymphoma last week.
The two became close during Idol's Hollywood Week, and David wanted Luke to know he was there for him. He says, "I love Luke and I just wanted to show up and make sure that he understood that I love him and know that if there's anything I can do for him and his wife, sign me up, you know? Any time one of your own is going through something as horrible as that, it makes everything else seem a little bit insignificant.
David went on to say that he's been very aware of cancer in his life since his older brother has been battling it for ten years. He says, "I'm excited to be put in the spotlight where I can hopefully do something to help other people."

Why does someone discriminate black? I don't think love is just belongs to white. I'm a black and but my hubby is white. We met at +(((((((+ I n t i m a t e m i n g l e. c o m +))))))+which tell us love is color blind. Our love proved this. I hope each one will not discriminate blacks. I would like to thank +(((((((+ I n t i m a t e m i n g l e. c o m +))))))+for bringing a very close friend from 17 years ago. I never had the chance to express how I really felt. I had always watched her from afar, but due to Mutual friends it wouldn't be right, but now we are planning to meet for new years eve. We have exchanged dozens of e-mails and phone calls. She now knows how I felt for her 17 years ago, And our future is as bright as ever.
