David Beckham Launches His Own Website

David Beckham

Oh-Oh we got some blogging competition in our hands. David Beckham has launched his own blog. The soccer stud says that he is really surprised that it has taken him so long to get his own website. I don't know if he actually wrote the posting, but you judge for yourself.

Beckham writes: "Hi everybody, Thanks for joining me on davidbeckham.com - it does seem incredible that in all my time playing professional football, I haven't had my own website. So here it is at last.

It also gives me the perfect opportunity to say goodbye to all my friends in Spain. After four years in Madrid, I'd just like to say thank you to the people there and Real Madrid fans for being absolutely incredible, not only to me, but to my family as well. I was so happy to be able to leave having given the fans something to celebrate by helping to win La Liga. I am now moving on to an exciting new challenge at the LA Galaxy.

So far, everyone has been amazing, and my family and myself have been made to feel extremely welcome. I now have a great opportunity to raise the profile of football in America, (or soccer I should say!) and that's something I'm genuinely excited about. Meanwhile, I'll do my best to keep you updated with everything that's happening whilst I am playing in the States. I look forward to catching up with you all soon. David"

I don't believe he can type. He looks like the type that wouldn't even know how to turn a computer on. As for soccer, I think the American consesus is that it's a bunch of crap and I don't think that's going to change. We have enough sports as it is. I'm sure a season of something's coming up, Football? Baseball? Who knows, but I don't think David Beckham is going to change that. A lot of people are already sick of the attention he's been getting and that fact that worldwide soccer fans are calling him washed up doesn't help. We had a very good women's soccer team and due to the lack of support it went bye bye. If we can't support them and they actually won something big (can't remember what. Olympics?) we won't be watching some no name team from L.A. You need more than one player to make people interested. I just don't see it gathering a fan base like say the Cubs or the Red Soxs.

Of course the American consensus is that Soccer's crap, that's because everyone else in the World's better than them at it, even 3rd World Countries. Why do you think America plays games like American Football and Baseball? Because no other country in the World plays them professionally, therefore Americans can pat themselves on the back and tell themselves that they're great at something, it really does soothe that inferiority complex. As for Beckham, he's a waste of space who can't string a sentence together and he has minions that do things like string full sentences together for him so there's no way he created anything on that site.

Soccer is crap! Whether it's only the "American consensus" or not - he's in our country now and he'll see no matter how good he is at it, we as a country enjoy other sports alot more! I think football in the US is alot more manly and deserving of millions of dollars than kicking around a damn soccer ball! Why are people so freakin' jealous of the United States that they have to put us down b/c we don't play soccer - that's so stupid. We have much better sports entertainment than that!

You people are ignorant. If you were REALLY into sports, somebody who actually PLAYED a sport, vs. watching it on TV, you would appreciate Soccer. It is easy to point fingers when you have no talent, no skill, no athleticism, so it doesn't suprise me Beckham is getting a lot of flack. He is not here to appease you.. he is here to help our younger generation from becoming couch potato's like you, and really making something of themselves. Football = for fat people. Basketball = for freak tall people. Baseball = for lazy people. America has sports for freaks. No wonder you don't play them. Soccer is a sport for EVERYONE. For a 300pound woman, and a 90 pound man. They are equals. Being equal on a playing field... THAT is a TRUE sport. Deal with it and embrace it. It would do you good. Don't be ignorant. Embrace the WORLD's most popular sport. Don't be a stupid narrow minded American.
