David Beckham Is New Face Of Sharpie

What will they come up with next? David Beckham, soccer star extraordinaire, is the new face of Sharpie. Yes, the markers. He will begin appearing in a global ad campaign for the company, set to premiere in the States this month.

Sharpie's head Howard Heckes says: "Like the Sharpie brand, David embodies individuality and creative expression. He is the rare athlete who transcends nationality and sport to command worldwide attention, making him the perfect ambassador for Sharpie marker users who are as passionate about the bold mark of a Sharpie as they are about the colors, variety and almost limitless uses of the product."

That's so weird, because I was just thinking the other day how much my Black Sharpie I've been using to do my taxes reminds me of the greatest soccer player of our time. So many similarities!

Ain't he the cunning opportunist for a has-been soccer player. No longer free of sufficient injuries to play in his native land, here he is plying his-self in the good old US of A. Maybe he can autograph his underwear ads with his new sharpies.

good old US of A??? while OLD is true..i don't agree with the GOOD. anyways, Good Old Becks is the Player of the Season in Madrid just a few months ago and A National Hope everytime he plays including the last England game in 2007 just more than 4 month ago. and he's gonna be there again. don't you know, drbehavior??

correction.. he is not the greatest football player of our time.. he is the most paid or even the most famous.. he definately isnt the 'greatest'... they are actual great football players in the world right now who are not necessarily pimping out themselves to the americans... its an insult to call him the greatest football player...

I honestly don't understand the company's decision to partner with Beckham. But I wish Beckham all the best in the ads. -armine

does not appear to be much of campaign, so far...but putting money in the beckham brand will be bit risky, i know im done buying the sharpie brand - o yeah - i already have about 8 same type pens in my junk drawer - i haven't needed to buy a new one in about 5 years and counting
