Becks Might Not Become A Sir

David Beckham

David Beckham was supposed to receive the highest honor that the U.K. has to offer but that dream just might not turn into reality. Government officials in the U.K. have reportedly launched a campaign to block Becks from receiving a knighthood.

Basically, a lot of people don’t think he should have the ‘Sir’ title because they see him as a trader. His move to L.A. has pissed off a lot of people!

A source told London's Evening Standard, "His name has been put forward but there is a view among some officials that it should not be approved while there is a conflict between his future as an England player and his contract with an American club.

"Some officials feel that there is nothing wrong with honoring a player who is based in Europe and free to represent his country if required, but feel there is a big difference if the same player is earning his main income and paying tax in the United States and unable to play for England."
