While on their way to the airport from their home in France this past Friday, David and Victoria Beckham were involved in a car accident.
David was reportedly rushing to the airport for a flight to Beijing, China to take part in the Olympics closing ceremony on Sunday. He apparently lost control of his BMW and smashed the side of the car against a wall, which resulted in a smashed window and extensive damage along the passenger side.
According to eyewitnesses, Victoria was really shaken and crying. David tried to comfort her but he had to flee the scene early in order to catch his flight. Luckily, Victoria's dad Tony Adams was with the couple.
Fortunately there were no other cars involved in the accident and the Beckhams didn't suffer any injuries!
UPDATE: Victoria's rep claims that the story, which was first reported by UK press, is fabricated. “There was no car crash,” says Cheryl Maisel. “David and Victoria Beckham were driving a car that had been scratched the day before when it had been left parked at the airport - they were not involved in any accident at all. There was no police, no crash, no paparazzi chase, etc. - just very incorrect reports via Internet gossip sites.”
