2012 Espy Awards: The Winner's List

The 2012 ESPY Awards were last night, and in case you missed the sporting equivalent of the Academy Awards, we have the highlights for you.

(But P.S. how could you? I mean everyone is going to be talking about what LeBron was wearing… that’s a joke people, wrong ceremony).

Well let’s be honest, no awards show would be complete without an awkward host. Rob Riggle, actor/comedian/part time Marine, tried for jokes, but struggled to read his lines and overall impress the viewing audience.

Joel McHale was there to present. After him and Riggle shared a bizarre choreographed dance sequence/secret handshake number, supporting the theory that two comedians don’t necessarily make a funny.

For your “feel good” contingent, there were inspirational bits involving a teenager battling cystic fibrosis, a female basketball coach with Alzheimer’s and some awards were given to disabled athletes.

Lamar Odom was hanging out with father-in-law/sports buddy Bruce Jenner. Cute, right?

And David Beckham was there. In case you were wondering, he’s still hot. He won the award for Best Soccer Player… and best body if we have anything to say about it.

Speaking of awards, since that’s the point of the whole thing, some winners include: Jeremy Lin for the Best Breakthrough Athlete, Brittney Griner (she’s a basketball player to keep your eye on) for Best Female Athlete and Best Female College Athlete, Shaun White took the Best Male Action Sports title, Tim Tebow took an award for something dubbed the Best Moment, LeBron James won like 56 times, and David Beckham won Best MLS Player…

Wait, did I already mention he was there? Being hot? It’s worth repeating.
