We didn't wanna believe it, but David Arquette is pretty serious about this whole separation thing.
A couple of weeks ago, he hinted that he and Courteney Cox had no plans for reconciliation, and now, he's confirming it.
During (yet another) appearance on the Howard Stern Show on Tuesday, the actor said that he and Cox are past the point of making things work. Stern asked him:
"If Courteney said to you, 'David, I made a mistake I want to work on our marriage. I want you moving back into the house, I want you to break up with that girl. I know we have to do this for our daughter.' Would you consider it?"
David replied: "Uh, I mean, no."
My heart just broke. I don’t know why I care about these two making it work. But dammit, I do.
The two remain very close, though. They were married for 11 years before deciding to separate in October 2010. David is now dating Entertainment Tonight reporter Christina McLarty. And when he told Cox he was in love with his new girlfriend, it was an emotional moment. Stern asked David: "What did [Courteney] do when you said, 'I'm in love with a new woman?'"
"She was sad, we were both sad," David responded. "We both cried."
Howard Stern has basically been David Arquette's Dr. Phil through this whole separation. He famously dished about he and Courteney's sex life on the air when they first separated.
"She know she's not f-cking me, and she's like, 'Listen, I want you to be able to do whatever you have to do,'" Arquette revealed at the time.
But now he wants to keep things more private.
"I'm trying to keep my personal life personal," Arquette says. "It's very hard for me because I'm a very honest person."
David told Stern:
"I don't know why I always end up talking about my relationships. I try not to."
Here's a tip, stop calling Howard Stern.
David was said to be devastated when he and Cox split, and this past spring, they were seen reuniting, at least as parents. They walked the red carpet together at the Scream 4 premiere in April, and Cox even gushed over how cute he was. Before that, the pair was spotted with their daughter, Coco, in Disneyland.
Rumors abounded that a reconciliation was on the way, but it looks like everyone's bubble is now officially burst.
