2011 Oscar Nominations Announced

"I am truly honored for this nomination. And deeply thankful to the Academy members for their trust and support. Also to all of those who showed their support to my work in "Biutiful" I express my heartfelt gratitude. I am very happy for Alejandro and everyone who has made possible the special movie we made together. It's really a huge honor to have been nominated in a non-English speaking performance and in the name of all my colleagues in Spain and mine I want to show my gratitude to the Academy for support and a recognition in this nomination for the movie "Biutiful."'
--Javier Bardem's statement to Hollyscoop, Best Actor for 'Biutiful'

"I am so honored and grateful to the Academy for this recognition. It is a wonderful culmination of the ten-year journey with Darren to make this film. Making "Black Swan" is already the most meaningful experience of my career, and the passion shown for the film has completed the process of communication between artists and audience. I am so thankful for the support we have received and I share this honor with the entire cast and crew of the film, especially Darren Aronofsky."
--Natalie Portman's statement to Hollyscoop, Best Actress for 'Black Swan'

“I’d like to thank the Academy for recognizing "The Fighter" with this morning’s nominations. Playing Charlene was truly an inspiring experience and I’m so proud and grateful to have been a part of this movie. It’s an honor to be nominated in the same category as Melissa, and alongside such incredible actresses.”
--Amy Adams statement to Hollyscoop, Best Supporting Actress for 'The Fighter'

"What an extraordinary journey this film has taken me on! 'Rabbit Hole' has been a labor of love and I'm so thankful to John Cameron Mitchell, David Lindsay-Abaire and the brilliant cast. This nomination reflects all of the heart and soul that these people have put into it and I can't thank them enough."
--Nicole Kidman's statement to Hollyscoop, Best Actress for 'Rabbit Hole'

"I am honored to receive this nomination. Making Blue Valentine was unlike any experience I've ever had before, or may ever have again. I share this recognition with Ryan and Derek who always brought out the best in me. Thank you to the Academy and to The Weinstein Company for their support of this film."
--Michelle Williams's statement to Hollyscoop, Best Actress for 'Blue Valentine'

"Currently celebrating with my colleagues three feet above the ground. I'm not used to this much joy or this much champagne at this hour."
--Colin Firth, Best Actor for 'The King's Speech'

"I'm as excited to be recognized and honored by the Academy as my character must have been when his London speech-therapy business flourished when the future King of England happened to pop by one day."
--Geoffrey Rush, Best Supporting Actor for 'The King's Speech'

"I had no idea they were announcing today, I swear! I was totally taken by surprise. I just dropped the kids off at carpool. I was about five minutes from the school with a car full of kids. With so many kids, I didn't even realize it was today. I'm glad I forgot about it. It's made it all the more, I don't know, just sweet and poignant and unexpected, you know?"
--Mark Ruffalo, Best Supporting Actor for 'The Kids Are All Right'

Fun Facts About 2011 Oscar Nominations

--Darren Aronofsky, Best Director for 'Black Swan'

"I'm very grateful and humbled by the nominations for 'The Social Network.' The success of our movie belongs to many people, and this nomination is theirs to share."

Natalie Portman wants everyone to know her fiancé totally wants to sleep with her.

While accepting her Best Actress awards at the Golden Globes on Sunday Natalie joked about her fiancé Benjamin Millepied not wanting to sleep with her in 'Black Swan' but off screen they were definitely getting it on! LOL.

"Thank you to Benjamin, who is helping me continue this creation of creating more life," Natalie said after she thanked her parents for raising her. “Benjamin choreographed the film, and also you might remember him in the movie as the guy when they ask, 'Would you sleep with that girl?' And he's like, 'Pffff, no.' He's the best actor. It's not true: He totally wants to sleep with me!" she laughed heartily.

She went on to thank 'Black Swan' director Darren Aronofsky to giving her the role of a lifetime.

"Darren, I met you 10 years ago, and we talked about this for the first time, and thank you for continuing to work on this movie and then to give me such a beautiful, beautiful gift with this role," she said.

"Every time we finished our takes, you would say, 'Now do this one for yourself,' and that gave me such beautiful inspiration as an actor to not just be amused, that I could create on my own as well. I love you so much and you're the most wonderful and I'm so grateful to you."

Natalie is on fire! She has a Best Actress Golden Globe under her belt, and is considered the front runner for the Oscars. If anyone deserves it it's Natalie!

Natalie Portman looked absolutely radiant on Saturday night when she showed up to the Palm Springs International Film Festival sporting a growing baby bump and her new engagement ring.

Natalie was amongst a ton of A-list stars being honored for their achievements this year. Reporters and fans who were lined up outside the Palm Springs convention went nuts when she arrived with her fiancé Benjamin Millepied. One reporter was overheard joking, "Jesus is here!"

Natalie has been getting a ton of buzz for her role as Nina in Black Swan, and as she told Hollyscoop, she's absolutely thrilled that people loved her work so much.

"It's a really big honor to have people respond so positively to something we all put so much heart into and so much love into," Natalie told Hollyscoop at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday.

Natalie is definitely a shoo-in for a Best Actress nomination at the Oscars this year, and when asked about all the buzz, she admits she's humbled by it.

"I'm such a big fan of so many of the films this year and so many performances this year that it feels very lucky to be even mentioned even in the same sentence as any of the other people on the other films that are being talked about," she told Hollyscoop, adding, "I'm very, very grateful."

And Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky seems to be just as excited about the Oscar buzz as Natalie is.

He told Hollyscoop, "It's great that they respect what she's done. It really was an amazing accomplishment. I'm thrilled for her."

The notoriously private Natalie picked up the Achievement Actress Award during the award show and got teary eyed on stage while thanking her fiancé Ben.

He "partnered me in the movie and now partners me in life," she told the audience.

Ben of course accompanied his leading lady to the awards show. They were MIA from the after-party, but with a growing baby bump we hardly expected to see her partying the night away. Did you see Black Swan? Do you think Natalie deserves the Best Actress win this year? Tell us your thoughts!
