Daniel Day-Lewis
December 1, 2011

The Steven Spielberg-directed movie focuses on the Civil War president and is currently shooting in Richmond, VA. The film is four years in the making, and on Thursday, a photo surfaced of Daniel dressed as Abraham Lincoln. Well, almost. I’m not sure if Lincoln wore Levi's and a Steve Jobs turtleneck.
Daniel is no doubt going to make his depiction of Abraham Lincoln a role to remember. And his name will be added to a long list of celebs who have played U.S. Presidents.
Tom Selleck: Dwight D. Eisenhower: Selleck surprised fans when he took on the role of General Dwight D. Eisenhower in the 2004 A&E flick, Ike: Countdown to D-Day. I’m not sure why people were surprised. He’s done stuff other than Three Men and a Baby, people. There was also Magnum, P.I.

This year, we noticed a few notable actors who were left out of the nominations list, as well as some blockbuster hits we were hoping would sneak through the cracks. Here’s a list of our biggest Oscar snubs of 2010.
Beginning with the actor/actress category, several people were left out this year! Brad Pitt for Inglourious Basterds, Daniel Day-Lewis for his role in Nine, and Alec Baldwin for his supporting role in It’s Complicated.
As far as the ladies, Diane Kruger wasn’t given a nod for Basterds, and former Oscar winner Marion Cotillard was left out in lieu of Penelope Cruz.
In the Best Picture category, we weren’t expecting the Academy to stoop to low as to honor a bunch of roofied bachelors in Vegas, but we were still hoping The Hangover would get some recognition.
Guess we’ll have to settle for a Golden Globe! 500 Days of Summer got snubbed across the board, as well as Star Trek, and Michael Jackson’s This Is It.
Chime in on any of your faves who got left out this year in the comments below!

The film is an adaptation from the original Broadway play of the same name, which won five Tony awards. This film is a must-see just for the cast alone! Check out the sexy trailer below. Nine is out in theates November 25th.

This should be quite a tough role to take on for Lewis, because it's a musical. But he is known as an actor who takes great pride in the roles he selects, so he must feel that he can pull off the part of the famous film director who experiences personal crisis while trying to balance all the women in his life.

If Daniel Day-Lewis didn’t win the Oscar for “Best Actor In A Leading Role” there would have been blood. Was this a suprise? No! We all knew Daniel would win the Oscar for his role as the ruthless Daniel Plainview. He truly re-created what the word acting means in this movie.
This is Daniel’s second Academy Award and fourth nomination. Oscar winner Helen Mirren presented Daniel the award in which he responded, “At last the closest I can come to getting a knighthood”.
No Tributes to actor Heith Ledger or any other actor in his speech. It was all about family, Daniel thanked his wife Rebecca Miller, his children, father and grandfather.
We all know Daniel is picky about his choice for roles and we're hoping he can make his next flick in the next year. So far he has not committed to any movies. Guys like him should be making more films, since he is a real actor.
