Kristin and her partner Mark Ballas danced the samba last night to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” and got 24 out of 30 possible points, putting them squarely in the middle of the pack, but evidently it wasn’t enough to save them from being eliminated.
Kristin was genuinely shocked to hear her name. And so was the audience. I mean, how did David Arquette and Chaz Bono survive the elimination and Kristin got booted off? Doesn’t seem fair at all.
"I'm a little surprised, to be honest," she admitted to co-host Brooke Burke Charvet. "It's been such a great time. You know, it is what it is!"
"I was really proud of Kristin," Ballas, 25, said. "She had great potential and she killed it last night. I'm honored to be her partner."
Hope Solo was at risk of being eliminated as well, but Kristin’s name was called instead. Judge Len Goodman confessed he was shocked to see both of them at risk of being sent home.
"This is truly crazy!" he said. "My expectations was that these two couples would be fighting in the finals. This is week three and one of these is going home. It's madness!"
On Monday, it looked like Chaz Bono or Nancy Grace could be headed home: Chaz scored just 18 points for his rumba while Nancy followed with just 21 points.
Elimination in the competition results from a combination of judges’ scores and audience votes. The celebrity with the lowest combined scores is sent home.
On Monday night Kristin’s ex fiancé Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was in the audience sparking rumors of reconciliation. Bears fans joked online that Jay’s presence was such bad luck, it resulted in Kristin’s surprise elimination.
So who is left in the competition? Former talk show host Ricki Lake, actor David Arquette, Chaz Bono, TV host Nancy Grace, Rob Kardashian, fashion guru Carson Kressley , Iraq war veteran and actor J.R. Martinez , singer Chynna Phillips and Soccer star Hope Solo.
