Courtney Stodden. biography
Courtney Alexis Stodden was born on August 29, 1994, in Tacoma, Washington and took her first step towards fame as the representative of Tacoma in the 2010 Miss Washington Teen USA pageant. She then made her local broadcast debut as a host on The Courtney Stodden Show, but didn't receive the publicity she was searching for until she married actor and manager Doug Hutchinson (51) on May 20, 2011, in Las Vegas. Although Courtney was only 16 at the time, her parents Alex and Krista gave Doug their everlasting permission to go ahead with their holy matrimony.
Ensuing the couple's extremely public wedding announcement, Courtney received truckloads of attention, including offers from Playboy magazine. She quickly became known as the teenager married to a creeper who prances around in minimal clothing, broadcasts sexually implicit-poetic tweets, and has an undying attraction for any type of recording devices.
In 2012, Courtney made her TV debut in VH1's reality series Couples Therapy with Doug, in hopes of fixing issues concerning their age difference. Many viewers flocked to the TV to get the lead therapist's insight on the couple's very unconventional relationship, further extending Courtney's celebrity status. Too much surprise, the therapist did little to break the couple up and more to refute the public's opinion that Doug is a pedophile and their marriage is unnatural:
"[At first] I said to my producer, 'I think this guy is a pedophile... I don't know if I can work with these people.' I don't condone it, but I do see that this is a married couple that is genuinely married and they have marital issues that needed to be worked on. I came in saying, 'She's a victim, he's a predator.' What I found out was that she has a lot more power in this relationship and he is far more powerless than I expected. His family has completely disowned him… He unfortunately has nothing besides her. . . He's not a predator. He's not someone, who if Courtney left him, would be trolling the Internet or high schools for underage girls. That's not his m.o. This is not a guy who was seeking out teenagers. He was teaching a class, she wanted to be an actress, it was an acting class… And that's how it started."
Regardless of the therapist's diagnosis, the couple is seen as nothing more than a publicity stunt that only want to boost their non-existent careers. Unlike most celebrities, these two thrive on the paparazzi and almost seem to stalk them. Until the paparazzi learn to runaway from the fame-grubbers, Courtney will never cover herself up or stay away from the public eye.
