Rocker Courtney Love credits Buddhism for turning her life around, after practicing the religion this troubled star saw her career and love life bloom. The singer recently turned to the ancient doctrines to overcome her drug problems and insists her past experiences with the religion made it the first place she turned to when she was in trouble.

Courtney reveals, "This is my third attack at Buddhism. The first time I went for it, it got me off Hollywood Boulevard and got my band Hole to where it got. I ended up with a great husband and a wonderful child (Kurt Cobain and Frances Bean). Then I quit. I started chanting again and I ended up with this fantastic movie (The People Vs Larry Flynt) and a fantastic boyfriend (Ed Norton). Then I quit. So this time, I thought: 'You know what works?' For me, this particular Buddhist practice just really works."

Speaking of Kurt Cobain, Love insists she has never fully got over his tragic death. She said, "I really loved him. He was my best friend. I really miss him a lot." Courtney also claims that his life could have been saved if he'd received the proper help he needed. "I spent a lot of time nursing him. As well as the drugs he had a stomach ailment and was in a lot of pain a lot of the time. I would find him on the floor vomiting bile. I had the adrenaline kit that you would put in the heart. I was on my own with it."

Love graced the cover of the latest issue of V magazine.
