Courteney Cox and her husband of nine years
David Arquette seem to have one of the happiest marriages in Hollywood--but Cox admits regular trips to a therapist are the reason.
The 'Bedtime Stories' star admits that her and David have found a "good balance," saying: "Is marriage for ever? I think you get married with the intention that it will be, but who knows?
"I get shocked by people getting divorced all the time, that's why I choose to work on it. Therapy helps us. It's so easy to grow apart; marriage takes work. I suppose you can work it out by talking to each other - I would just prefer to have a referee, it reminds us why we're together."
Cox's parents divorced when she was just a child, so when she finally tied the knot with Arquette back in 1999, she wanted to make sure it was forever. "Before my dad died, he said one of his big regrets was that he hadn't worked on their marriage enough. I don't know what the future's going to hold, but divorce isn't really an option."
It's so refreshing to hear a celebrity not only admit that her relationship isn't picture perfect, but also that it takes a lot of work to make it work. Other couples should take a page out of their book. Everyone in Hollywood is so quick to jump on the divorce bandwagon, that celebrity marriages in this town have literally become a joke.
