Courteney Cox Discusses Separation, Dating and Love

Courteney Cox opened up about all sorts of things in the April issue of Harper's Bazaar. And it’s quite possibly the saddest interview I’ve ever read.

Courteney reflects on her marriage and recent separation from David Arquette, saying, “The thing is, when you get older, it’s more about compatibility than it is about love.”

Sounds like she's just given up, and who can blame her? With his escapades and addictions, David Arquette isn't exactly Prince Charming. But despite that, Courteney also says she won’t be dating anytime soon.

“It just seems weird. I don’t even know how that would happen or how you meet people. I really don’t like to go out. I’m not great at small talk. I like to go to dinner with people. I don’t like to go to parties. There’s a sign on my forehead: EXITING SOCIAL LIFE, ENTERTING INTO ISOLATION.”

Damn, put down the word search and stop petting your cats, Courteney! It doesn’t look like you’re turning into an old maid anytime soon.

She still defends her estranged husband, saying he’s not malicious and has a big heart. As far as his revealing details of their sex life, Courteney says,

“He was dealing with things the best way he could. Don't get me wrong; he was on a show for entertainment. David is smart, and David is also a showman. He knew what he was doing.”

She also defends Arquette’s recent relationship with another woman, saying, “He absolutely did nothing that wasn't in the boundaries of what we set for our separation.”

So David gets to drink in excess, disclose private details about his celebrity sex life and bang cocktail waitresses. Sounds like the best marriage ever. For him, at least.
