Cougar Town

Jennifer Aniston made her much anticipated cameo on Cougar Town last night, but it failed to get the viewers they were hoping for.

8.3 million viewers watched the show, and while that sounds pretty high, a large chunk of the audience didn't stay tuned. Last year's series premiere drew 11.4 million viewers.

Modern Family brought in around 12.6 million viewers for the season premiere---and boy was it a great episode!

Most of the Jen scenes were leaked online this week, so what was the point of tuning in? Did you watch the episode? What did you think?

Jennifer Aniston and longtime BFF Courteney Cox had a mini Friends reunion this week on the set of Courtney's hit ABC show Cougar Town.

Jen makes a special cameo on Cougar's second season premiere as Courteney's new therapist Bonnie.

ABC just released photos of the besties and we're already so excited about the reunion we can't wait for the September 22nd airdate.

No word if Jen's character has an on-set romance with Josh Hopkins, but it would certainly explain that late night dinner last week!
Jennifer Aniston may have bombed at the box office this past weekend, but the TV world is buzzing about her upcoming cameo on Cougar Town.

ABC just confirmed that Jen will join her BFF Courteney Cox on the hit show, and she's playing a cool character too.

“She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,” exec producer Bill Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly, referring to Cox’s character, Jules.

“Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist. Those guys are so close in real life they kind of do that for each other anyway. Bonnie has the life Jules wishes she has.”

We've been hearing the cameo rumors for months but it's finally happening. And believe it or not, it's going to the second time they're reunited on screen since Friends went off the air in 2004. Their first reunion was in 2007, when they re-teamed for an episode of Cox’s FX dramedy Dirt.

Jen will appear on the show's September 22 season premiere. Woop Woop!

Cougar Town is doing well for a newborn show, and they’re already looking forward to their second season on ABC. But we hear whispers that that the show’s name is going to be changed.

Hollyscoop previously reported that the show’s creator Bill Lawrence wants to change the name to attract a larger audience. He mentioned also that the show has turned more into an ensemble cast, and really doesn’t have anything to do with Cougars!

Say Goodbye to Cougar Town

Hollyscoop talked with two of the show’s stars—Courteney Cox and Busy Phillips—at the the Women In Film event last night, and they told us their thoughts on the name change.

Courteney told us EXCLUSIVELY, “I don’t know if it’s going to happen or not. It’s not a rumor we have really been thinking about it. I don’t know if we will. Maybe we don’t need to.”

She also added, “The show speaks for itself. It’s a true family ensemble.”

Busy Phillips also told us it’s all up to Lawrence what happens to Cougar Town. “Mr. Bill Lawrence has a mind of his own and will do what he really wants,” she explained.

Phillips went on, “I think there is a certain demographic of people, a certain type of person who is maybe changing the channel because they don't like connotation of Cougar Town.”

“I think they are missing out on a really great fun show about friend and family,” she added, “Instead of about of an old lady who is trying to bang young guys which A) Courteney is not old and B) There are no young guys.”

Hey, keeping a show on TV these days is tough, so if a name change will make close-minded people tune in, then so be it!
Say bye-bye to Cougar Town! No, the show isn't getting canceled, but it may be getting a new name.

According to People magazine, the show’s co-creator Bill Lawrence is hoping to change the ABC comedy’s title for the next season because the show isn't just about Courteney Cox anymore--it's more of an ensemble cast.

Courteney Cox Wants Zac Efron on Cougar Town

“You would be hard-pressed to watch the last three episodes of the show and asked anyone for titles I doubt anyone would say ‘Cougar Town,’ ” Lawrence said according to People magazine.

He said he's also hoping a name change will attract a wider audience--people who wouldn't normally tune into a show about Cougars. “Partly as a result of common sense and partly from [the studio's] research, they find too many instances of testing of people saying they would never watch a show called Cougar Town — ‘I don’t want to see some show about a 40-year-old woman nailing younger guys,’ ” says Lawrence.

“And then they screen an episode, and people go, ‘Oh, I would watch this show.’ “

So what are they considering renaming the show to? Friends and Neighbors with the ‘Friends‘ written in the same font as the original Friends show. Um...how about you guys go back to the drawing board?! What would you rename the show?

Courteney Cox is the ultimate cougar (on set that is) and she has her sights set on some fresh meat.

Courtney has had a slew of guest stars on her hit ABC show Cougar Town, and she's hoping Zac Efron will be next on the list.

“Zac Efron would be perfect, but he probably has too much confidence to be real prey for a cougar,” said Cox, whose real-life hubby David Arquette is seven years her junior.

“You know you’re a cougar when you’re attracted to your son’s friends.”

Courtney's such a hot cougar, she could break anyone down!
Jennifer Aniston may be turning into a cougar! Rumor has it she’s planning on guest-starring on CougarTown, which stars her real-life BFF Courteney Cox.

Fox 411 says nothing is official as of yet, but the gears have been set in motion. Courtney told reporters, “[Aniston] is so busy, but I'm sure at some point she would do it. [She would play] something fantastic, something she would just have a blast doing.”

Jen reportedly promised Courteney that will be able to make a guest appearance once she is done promoting 'The Bounty Hunter' which is very soon.

“She promised she would do it as soon as she finished promoting her new film, The Bounty Hunter...She wanted to do something different,” a source said.

Courteney has definitely given new meaning to the term “cougar” ever since her show started airing. And she has some advice for all those single older women out there! “Just be a confident woman,” she advised. “Feel okay about going out with someone younger and don’t be self conscious.”

Cox also says she’s gotten most of her confidence in her 40s. “Being 40 is something fantastic. Now I have all the confidence I wish I would have had at 30,” she said. “I don't have that many more good years!”

It’s about time Jennifer and Courteney shared the screen again! And it’d be the perfect role for Jen since she’s the hottest cougar in Hollywood!

Cougar Town just got a little hotter! According to reports, Sheryl Crow is joining the show! And this isn’t just some little guest appearance—Sheryl has landed a recurring role on the ABC hit sitcom.

Entertainment Weekly says she will play the character of Grayson’s (Josh Hopkins) new love interest.

Crow's character will probably show that men like Grayson—known for dating much younger women—can really change and date cougars after all!

Sheryl Crow will make her debut on the show in March. Looks like Sheryl is enjoying this little foray into acting. She also guest starred on 30 Rock and One Tree Hill recently, and is apparently taking a small break from music.

Cougar Town airs Wednesdays at 9:30 on ABC.
ABC's 'Cougar Town' is officially on hiatus until further notice. Courteney Cox has halted production on the show in order to take care of a "private family matter."

Reps for the show refuse to release any more info surrounding the halt. All we know is that it's been suspended so Courtney and her family can deal with a private issue.

A spokesperson for TV network ABC said: “We can confirm production on ‘Cougar Town’ has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter.”

Maybe Courtney needed the time off to make some babies? She recently said, "We're revving up the engines. I'm only ready because time's a-ticking.

"If I was 34, I'd wait another year. I want Coco to be helping me with the next one. One child is hard. Two is probably harder."

No word yet on how long the hiatus will last but whatever the case is, we really hope it gets resolved quickly, that show is too good to miss.

UPDATE: The personal family matter must have been resolved for Courteney Cox because production is back on.
