We're starting to get new details surrounding the death of troubled former teen star Corey Haim.
According to paramedics, Corey was alive when they arrived at his Los Angeles apartment, but was extremely weak.
Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said that Corey was weak but was "complaining of flu-like symptoms," reports Radaronline.
Paramedics helped him into an ambulance where he was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California. It was there that he was pronounced dead at 2:15 am Wednesday.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death, but authorities believe he passed away from an accidental drug overdose. Four different prescription drugs were found at his home when the paramedics arrived.
His mother was staying with him and credits Corey for helping her deal with Cancer. “I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home,” Corey’s mother Judy told Radar at the apartment where Corey collapsed.
“He was a good boy. I’m devastated by his death,” she added. Our condolences to Jude and Corey's friends. This is simply tragic. We hope it's a wake up call to other young stars.
