Corey Haim's death was ruled an accident, but there may be more than meets the eye when it comes to his severe drug problem. Corey had always struggled with drugs and alcohol, and apparently it was an issue right up until his death.
Now, twenty doctors have been handed subpoenas in connection with the actor's death.
They will now have to take the stand to talk about their connection with Haim. It's believed he was a part of an underground drug ring and may have used up to twenty doctors to prescribe his many medications.
According to TMZ, all of the doctors have been identified, and are from Los Angeles, Orange County, and Ventura CA counties. Seven of them have reportedly claimed they never met Haim or prescribed medications for him.
The leaders of the apparent San Diego drug ring stole prescription pads from the doctors and wrote out illegal medication orders for clients. One such client is believed to be Haim.
We knew there was a twist to this story. Doctors really need to watch their back these days because it's the obvious person to investigate when someone dies at a young age. The same thing will probably happen in the Brittany Murphy case eventually as well.
