While the public wasn't too happy with the news of a Dirty Dancing remake, Jennifer Grey gave it her blessing:

“I love @Kennyortega and trust that he will do something special #DirtyDancingRemake,” the original star Tweeted on Monday night.

"Blown away by all of the love expressed for #DirtyDancing. Makes me want to see it again. So grateful to have been a part of it."

There's a fine line between people expressing their "love" and them expressing their disgust over yet another unnecessary Hollywood remake.

Since starring in Dirty Dancing back in 1987, Jennifer Gray hasn't just disappeared into obscurity. The actress won Season 11 of Dancing With the Stars and married actor/director Clark Gregg in 2001.

So how are the rest of our favorite 80's stars holding up thirty years later?

Big shocker in the Corey Haim story. The LA Coroner released a statement today saying that drugs weren't a factor in the actor's death. The coroner said a drug test "revealed no significant contributing factors."

The cause of death was reportedly attributed to damage to the air sacs in his lungs, pneumonia and a hardening of his heart muscle with plaque build-up within the blood vessels. Therefore, his death is technically a result of natural causes.

Corey Haim Took 550 Pills Illegally Before His Death

This is what Haim's mother has been saying the entire time--that her son did not die of a drug overdose. The specific causes of death were listed as pneumonia, diffuse avleolar damage, or breathing difficulty, and cardiomypathy with coronary arteiosclerosisa, a genetic condition that results in thickening of the lower heart muscle.

In addition, TMZ reports that Haim's mother told officials she flushed all of Corey's prescription drugs down the toilet after his death because "she didn't want anyone else to get hold of the medication and she didn't know the police would be responding to her residence."

Drugs may not have been the official cause of death, but it's obvious Corey was abusing drugs throughout his entire lifetime.
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!
New disturbing details have been made public regarding the death of Corey Haim. According to California Attorney General Jerry Brown, Haim obtained over 550 prescription pills illegally before his death.

The meds, which include Valium, Xanax, Vicodin and Soma, were prescribed by seven different doctors who have been under investigation. They all claim they were “duped” by Haim.

20 Doctors Subpoenaed in Connection to Corey Haim

As you may recall, last month it was uncovered that Haim was part of an "illegal and massive prescription-drug ring.” Coroner's officials also said they found four prescriptions in Haim's name in the apartment where he collapsed, and all were prescribed by a doctor treating the actor.

We’re glad this is being investigated and not just forgotten about! Corey obviously had a problem with drugs for the majority of his life. Hopefully his untimely death will be a wake-up call to those relying on prescription pills to get through the day. There is help out there!
Corey Haim's death was ruled an accident, but there may be more than meets the eye when it comes to his severe drug problem. Corey had always struggled with drugs and alcohol, and apparently it was an issue right up until his death.

Now, twenty doctors have been handed subpoenas in connection with the actor's death. They will now have to take the stand to talk about their connection with Haim. It's believed he was a part of an underground drug ring and may have used up to twenty doctors to prescribe his many medications.

According to TMZ, all of the doctors have been identified, and are from Los Angeles, Orange County, and Ventura CA counties. Seven of them have reportedly claimed they never met Haim or prescribed medications for him.

The leaders of the apparent San Diego drug ring stole prescription pads from the doctors and wrote out illegal medication orders for clients. One such client is believed to be Haim.

We knew there was a twist to this story. Doctors really need to watch their back these days because it's the obvious person to investigate when someone dies at a young age. The same thing will probably happen in the Brittany Murphy case eventually as well.
Brittany Murphy’s death was ruled an accident when the coroner found she’d died of cardiac arrest after trying to fight off pneumonia. And while her husband Simon Monjack is adamant she was not abusing drugs, but a local pharmacy tells a different story.

TMZ has uncovered new information about the death from a man named Eddie Bubar, who owns Eddie’s Pharmacy in LA. He claims to have a list of over 100 prescriptions that were filled for Brittany, Simon, and Murphy’s mother Sharon between January 2008 and August 2009, including Vicodin, hydrocodone, Klonopin, and other drugs. They were all purchased under various aliases.

One of the aliases used by Brittany was Lola Manilow Murphy. Bubar told investigators a courier would pick the various prescriptions up in an envelope approximately every two weeks with the name "Lola" written on it.

Bubar also says he cut the threesome off four months before Brittany’s death, because he believed they were using multiple pharmacies to fill prescriptions. He said, "We thought there was going to be an accident there."

Since the investigation, several other aliases have been discovered at another local pharmacy. Simon claims it was the other way around. He says, "You know how this town is. We're the ones who cut Eddie's Pharmacy off."

This seems far from over. We still have an eerie feeling about Brittany’s death, and apparently, so does the State Attorney General’s Office. They’ve just launched an investigation on doctors who prescribed meds for her, Corey Haim, and even Michael Jackson.

And this should not be taken lightly—we all know what’s happening with Dr. Conrad Murray!
A suspect has been arrested in the investigation of an illegal drug ring Corey Haim is believed to have been a part of. The Attorney General’s office released a statement, saying, "We have confirmed one arrest in the case, but are not releasing any other details.”

It is not clear whether the suspect supplied the drugs that led to the actor’s death. Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. told CNN Haim obtained "thousands of pills" from multiple doctors going back to 2009 that he "shopped to.”

"How many people go to 10, 15 or 20 doctors and then run around to 10, 12 and more pharmacies to go fulfill them? And sometimes two different doctors on the same day?" Brown said. "If he took all the pills that our records show he was prescribed over the last year and three months, he took some very damaging assaults on his body."

As for the fraudulent OxyContin prescription in Corey’s name, Brown said, "We know there was a [doctor's] pad stolen and there was a prescription written for him using that pad, so it was fraudulent and we know it was filled.”

Right now, drugs aren’t being named as the cause of Corey’s death. We don’t know who anyone is kidding—Haim obviously had a major drug problem, and it was definitely related to him dying at age 38!
Corey Haim was laid to rest today in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. Over 200 people showed up to the funeral held at Steeles Memorial Chapel, a Jewish funeral home. Though the event was private, a crowd of fans lined up outside to pay their respects to the 80s teen idol.

Corey Feldman was absent from the funeral, having announced earlier in the week that he wouldn’t be attending. He said he preferred to mourn in Los Angeles, and honor the family’s wishes of keeping it a small and quiet affair.

He said, “I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey’s funeral, however due to their strong religious beliefs, and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey’s funeral on Tuesday a small, private affair.” Feldman is however planning on hosting a memorial service for his friend next month.

Haim’s second cousin Maytal Kotler told the Toronto Star the service was "very sad but with a lot of laughter."

We’re happy the Haim family was able to give Corey a proper funeral—last week it was reported that a company called Startifacts had stepped to offer to pay for the whole thing, setting them back $20,000.

Rest in peace, Corey!
Corey Haim tragically passed away last week after an alleged accidental overdose. He had a long history of substance abuse and according to close friends, he was abusing right up until his death.

Corey reportedly begged a friend for drugs shortly before he passed away on March 10th. A source close to the former teen idol tells Radaronline, “Corey was in a bad way and he was begging me to give him pain medication shortly before his death."

The source continued, “But although I’ve read stories about a gang giving him prescription drugs he never spoke about that. I know he was taking a lot of Valium, he was very upset about his mom’s cancer as he was really close to her, and I guess it was his way of dealing with the stress.

But according to his friend, he had hopes of getting clean. “Corey had recently started working with a new detox guy, and was in a pretty fragile state. Corey would get desperate sometimes though and would just nag his friends for drugs.”

Corey was laid to rest in his native Toronto today, with just close friends and family members present. Rest in peace Corey!
Corey Feldman and Corey Haim were best of friends since childhood, but Corey has said that he will not be attending his friends funeral on Tuesday in Toronto because it's going to be a small family affair.

"In the days following my best friend Corey Haim's death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me," Feldman says in a statement. "I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey's funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey's funeral on Tuesday a small private affair."

"Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family's wishes, I have decided not to attend.

"Instead, I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial," Feldman adds. "As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice. I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month. At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community."

His funeral is set for Tuesday in Canada.
Corey Haim's family was thrilled to find out a memorabilia company that was auctioning off some of his belongings has raised enough money to cover Corey's funeral expenses.

Corey's mother was asking his fans for donations in order to cover the cost of his funeral and according to TMZ, a company called Startifacts volunteered to donate the proceeds from their Haim-related auctions.

“Due to the unexpected expenses of transporting his body to Canada for final resting, a fund has been set up to help his family," his mother Judy wrote on his website. And it looks like someone from Startifacts read the post right in the nick of time.

The company is expected to cut the Haim family a $20,000 check to cover the costs of the headstone, transporting the body to Toronto, and whatever else is needed.

Corey will be laid to rest next week in his native Canada.
