According to the Washington Post, the association picked the late-night host to be the emcee for the evening and an NBC rep has since confirmed the news. They also made it clear that Leno was selected weeks before the whole Conan debacle.
Leno has hosted the evening in 1987, 2000, and 2004. But we’re sure everyone will be looking forward to how Leno handles the event given the recent circumstances he’s been in. We thought David Letterman had painted himself in a bad light a couple months ago, but Leno is now known as the most-hated man in late-night.
It’ll be interesting to see how Leno fairs in front of his peers—fellow entertainers in the industry!
