Thanks to The King's Speech, Colin Firth is now the Queen's favorite actor. And that comes with a whole lotta perks!

Colin is set to be knighted after winning an Oscar for the The King's Speech because Queen Elizabeth was so impressed with his portrayal of her father King George VI.

A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Colin has been a great ambassador for Britain throughout his career and his sensitive portrayal of King George VI has won him much admiration among the royal family – and of course, the film’s many fans.”

Buckingham Palace hasn't confirmed the rumors yet, but the British honors system usually recognizes excellent achievement in any field of work. Catherine Zeta-Jones is among those recently awarded with a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for her acting career and services to charity.

Colin will find out if he made the cut this June. What an honor!

Colin Firth took home the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of King George VI in the hit film The King's Speech.

Colin dominated the Best Actor category this award show season, so it comes as no surprise that he took home the Oscar at the Academy Awards.

Right before the big show he told Hollyscoop he feels like it’s his “wedding day because [he’s] so nervous."

"I don’t know how I’ll celebrate if I win.” When asked if he has a speech prepared he humbly shrugged.

He ended up giving a heartfelt speech. "I think my career just peaked," he said while thanking his wife for sticking by him through thick and thin.

Although a ton of people got snubbed this morning when the 2011 Oscar nominations were announced, a lot of great actors finally got the praise they deserved.

The King's Speech led the nominations with 12 total nods, and stars like Natalie Portman, Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman are on cloud nine today after the announcement. Here are their reactions:

2011 Oscar Nominations Announced

"I am truly honored for this nomination. And deeply thankful to the Academy members for their trust and support. Also to all of those who showed their support to my work in "Biutiful" I express my heartfelt gratitude. I am very happy for Alejandro and everyone who has made possible the special movie we made together. It's really a huge honor to have been nominated in a non-English speaking performance and in the name of all my colleagues in Spain and mine I want to show my gratitude to the Academy for support and a recognition in this nomination for the movie "Biutiful."'
--Javier Bardem's statement to Hollyscoop, Best Actor for 'Biutiful'

"I am so honored and grateful to the Academy for this recognition. It is a wonderful culmination of the ten-year journey with Darren to make this film. Making "Black Swan" is already the most meaningful experience of my career, and the passion shown for the film has completed the process of communication between artists and audience. I am so thankful for the support we have received and I share this honor with the entire cast and crew of the film, especially Darren Aronofsky."
--Natalie Portman's statement to Hollyscoop, Best Actress for 'Black Swan'

“I’d like to thank the Academy for recognizing "The Fighter" with this morning’s nominations. Playing Charlene was truly an inspiring experience and I’m so proud and grateful to have been a part of this movie. It’s an honor to be nominated in the same category as Melissa, and alongside such incredible actresses.”
--Amy Adams statement to Hollyscoop, Best Supporting Actress for 'The Fighter'

"What an extraordinary journey this film has taken me on! 'Rabbit Hole' has been a labor of love and I'm so thankful to John Cameron Mitchell, David Lindsay-Abaire and the brilliant cast. This nomination reflects all of the heart and soul that these people have put into it and I can't thank them enough."
--Nicole Kidman's statement to Hollyscoop, Best Actress for 'Rabbit Hole'

"I am honored to receive this nomination. Making Blue Valentine was unlike any experience I've ever had before, or may ever have again. I share this recognition with Ryan and Derek who always brought out the best in me. Thank you to the Academy and to The Weinstein Company for their support of this film."
--Michelle Williams's statement to Hollyscoop, Best Actress for 'Blue Valentine'

"Currently celebrating with my colleagues three feet above the ground. I'm not used to this much joy or this much champagne at this hour."
--Colin Firth, Best Actor for 'The King's Speech'

"I'm as excited to be recognized and honored by the Academy as my character must have been when his London speech-therapy business flourished when the future King of England happened to pop by one day."
--Geoffrey Rush, Best Supporting Actor for 'The King's Speech'

"I had no idea they were announcing today, I swear! I was totally taken by surprise. I just dropped the kids off at carpool. I was about five minutes from the school with a car full of kids. With so many kids, I didn't even realize it was today. I'm glad I forgot about it. It's made it all the more, I don't know, just sweet and poignant and unexpected, you know?"
--Mark Ruffalo, Best Supporting Actor for 'The Kids Are All Right'

Fun Facts About 2011 Oscar Nominations

"I'm smiling from ear to ear knowing that lightning can strike twice and it feels electrifying."
--Jeremy Renner, Best Supporting Actor for 'The Town'

"It's very insane. It's beyond all our expectations. You don't go in with expectations, especially when you are making a film that's scary and psychological and not common. I'm really happy that the Academy is recognizing this kind of movie. It's very exciting."
--Darren Aronofsky, Best Director for 'Black Swan'

"I'm very grateful and humbled by the nominations for 'The Social Network.' I'm incredibly proud of the work of my wildly talented collaborators in front of and behind the camera, all of whom gave the best of themselves and their talents in service to a film about a groundbreaking American innovation. The success of our movie belongs to many people, and this nomination is theirs to share."
--David Fincher, Best Director for 'The Social Network'

“I’ve been so happy over the years to see buddies take home Oscars,” Unkrich said, “but there’s nothing quite like being nominated yourself.”
--Lee Unkrich, Director of Toy Story 3

The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were just announced. Unlike the Golden Globes, which were announced earlier this week, the SAG awards outstanding performances in 2010 in five film and eight primetime television categories.

The Tourist may have snagged up a few GG's earlier this week but there was absolutely no mention of it in the SAG's. True Grit got multiple nominations, while Black Swan and The King's Speech scored a ton of nominations.

Justin Timberlake didn't get a mention for a GG, but got a mention under the category "Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture," for The Social Network. Sorry JT, that Oscar nod isn't looking so great.

As predicted Colin Firth, Jeff Bridges and James Franco picked up a Best Actor nomination, while Natalie Portman, Annette Bening and Nicole Kidman compete for the Best Actress award.

The great thing about the SAG awards is that actors honor other actors, which makes it different than any other awards show. Check out the nominees below and tell us your thoughts about the list...
