Kanye West and Adele are totally different when it comes to musical style, but one thing they have in common? They've taken over the nominations for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards show.

Nominees were announced Wednesday night at The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!!—Countdown To Music's Biggest Night.

Kanye led the nominations with seven. That should help with his ego. And Adele, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars each got six nods.

Hollyscoop was in the press room as some of the artists discussed what it means to them to be nominated for the 2012 GRAMMYs. Bruno Mars joked, "Well, it proves that I'm the greatest right?" He then added, "It means--I'm about to get real cheesy, get ready—it means that hard work pays off."

I guess it can be a little of both.

Mars then praised Adele, who has shot to fame in 2011 with her tear-jerking hits, Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You.

Chris Martin doesn’t talk about his personal life too much. I guess he feels like those paparazzi shots of him carrying his kids say enough.

So when the Coldplay singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and the topic of his high-profile wife came up, he just joked it off, calling her his “beard.” For those who don’t know, “beard” in this context means a fake wife, usually used by a gay man in Hollywood to cover up his gayness. Because I’m terrified of the Church of Scientology digging through my garbage and blackmailing me, I won’t offer up any actual names.

Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland sat down with Ellen to promote and perform songs from their new album, Mylo Xyloto.
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!
Coldplay rockers Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion and Guy Berryman have hearts as big as their paychecks. Literally. They group has donated £1 million to a children’s charity.

The band has always been a huge supporter of Kids Company, which helps underprivileged children who lack adult support, and have generously given the cash to help the organization achieve its goals.

Founder Camila Batmanghelidjh said: “They were moved by the tough stories they heard and want to be genuine participants. I got the feeling the donation was something they had planned from the start of their careers.”

Not only have they donated money, they've visited the charity on several occasions and even plan on returning to give the kids music lessons. How amazing is that? Can you imagine getting piano lessons from Chris Martin?

These guys have proven time and again that they're one of the most generous bands out there. Not only are they donating a part of their paychecks, they're donating their time. Such great role models! Kudos to Coldplay.
