Kelly Ripa Slams Clay Aiken

Kelly Ripa is not a fan of Clay Aiken and she isn’t afraid of express her feelings about him. Last Friday Clay co-hosted the show with Kelly and pissed her off when he put his hands over her mouth to shut her up during an interview. This morning Kelly told Regis about the incident about how Clay put his "cold clammy hands" over her mouth and face to shut her up. She revealed Clay was "rude and hostile, If I were a man, he never would have behaved so badly." Kelly also revealed that she had many phone calls from people who were shocked by his lack of southern manners. Check out the clip its 2 minutes and 40 seconds into the video.

He was suppose to be co-hosting, but he couldn't get a word in, because Kelly was doing her thing of running her mouth 100 miles an hour, I don't think he meant to be rude, but he wanted to ask a question and she wouldn't shut up long enough so he could ask it...
Posted by: someone on 11/20/2006 01:27 PM

i just saw the video actually and he was rude! i think he's a talentless loser and i dont understand how he has fans.
Posted by: JCC on 11/20/2006 01:29 PM

I had watched the show, but I just watched the video in case I missed something, but I quess we will have to agree to disagree, I don't think he was being rude, I think he wanted to speak, and tried to shut her up, long enough to ask a question..She does have a tendency to go on and on, even Regis has to tell her to shut up some times.
Posted by: someone on 11/20/2006 02:25 PM

The poor guy just wanted to ask a question and with her going on and on he didn't stand a chance!
Posted by: Pam on 11/20/2006 03:04 PM

I really don't think he was rude at all. She does have a tendency to run on and on. I think that it was the only way to get a word in with her. But people immediately start jumping all over it and calling him an uncivilized looser.
Posted by: me on 11/20/2006 03:08 PM

That was the best part of the whole show. It's about time SOMEONE shut her up.
Posted by: Danielle on 11/20/2006 03:33 PM

i don't think he was rude, you have a special guess co host and then all you let them do is sit there??? i think she needs to learn to control her mouth!
Posted by: tina on 11/20/2006 03:34 PM

K. Love Kelly. But she just bulldozed over him! I'm glad he did that.
Posted by: laura on 11/20/2006 05:32 PM

No matter what it was rude, he could have gone about it a different way, Regus does it all the time :)
Posted by: Audaz on 11/20/2006 05:51 PM

all you clay aiken fans are losers. he's a talentless fagot.
Posted by: Claymates suck on 11/20/2006 08:53 PM

Go Clay! Somebody had to do it and you had the balls. She's a prissy skank and was rude to everyone the whole show. I think she was drunk.
Posted by: Dave on 11/21/2006 06:48 AM

That boy is a WET NOODLE>>> that is kelly's show, he is a guest at her show.. yes she talks too much sometimes but he should have handeled it better.. NOODLE
Posted by: KC on 11/21/2006 09:56 AM

His actions alone should let the world know that he is totally gay!!!! that was such a b*tch move. he should be covering his face, he is sooo fugly!!!
Posted by: SLIM on 11/21/2006 11:42 AM

Clay was a guest host, not her little child that was to sit quietly while mommy talked. She should have shared the interview time instead of hogging it like she did. Clay was just joking around and didnt mean to make her mad, but really, would any of you just sit there like you were nobody, on tv, in front of possibly millions of people?
Posted by: cl on 11/21/2006 11:47 AM

I actually saw beginning of Regis and Kelly with Clay co-hosting and he was rude to her from the beginning of the show. His jokes to and about her were mean-spirited. I actually called a friend to tell her to amke sure I was not missing something and she mentioned Kelly's reaction on Monday's show.
Posted by: NAJ on 11/21/2006 12:20 PM

Looks to me like Clay wouldn't have been allowed a single word if he hadn't done something to shut Kelly down.
Posted by: CL on 11/21/2006 12:55 PM

Kelly Ripa has come a long way...but hello, she is not the queen of the talk shows. If they are not going to let guest hosts talk, perhaps they shouldn't have them. Maybe they don't need Regis and it could be the Kelly show...please, it was a joking gesture and Kelly needs to get over herself.
Posted by: Tami on 11/21/2006 02:38 PM

I think Kelly Rippa is very rude and cold. She just called Rosie down on the View when she (Kelly)called the view. Kelly should just shut up for a change.I will not watch R egis anymore because of her smart ways!!!!!
Posted by: lor on 11/21/2006 03:05 PM

Clay Aiken's gesture was uncalled for. Clay Aiken should have been more professional towards the situation. Obviously he can't handle being upstaged. And Kelly called Rosie because she said that her comment towards Clay Aiken was homophobic. Obviously, Kelly isn't going to let some fat lesbian-liberal turd like Rosie say that. So LOR, I suggest you keep your ignorant comments to yourself.
Posted by: P3tra on 11/21/2006 03:27 PM

Good for Kelly taking up for herself with Rosie. I say that to anyone putting their hands in my face. That's crazy of Rosie stating otherwise.
Posted by: Katherine on 11/21/2006 07:02 PM

The amazing thing that nobody points out is that his question had just been addressed by the guest moments before--about Mr. Football not having any dancing experience.I don't think Kelly's comments were in any way homophoboc. much as I enjoy Rosie,I think she is being stupid and/or WAY too sensitive. He may be gay, but he is OBNOXIOUS and creept to boot.
Posted by: NoGaikenFan on 11/21/2006 07:20 PM

He is a complete talantless fag why did they let him co host that show anyways. The only reason he has a name is because of all the ten year old claymates that are to young and immature to realize what a fudge backing fag really is. He should be hiding in his hotel room fisting seals like he usually does
Posted by: me on 11/21/2006 07:26 PM

Clay was way out of line. Kelly is always a warm host and he deserved that response. With a little comms skills and a touch of charisma, he would have been able to get in his burning question. He would not have put his hands on another man so it all boils down to maturity.
Posted by: smv on 11/21/2006 07:34 PM

I don't care if Kelly did keep talking, he had no right to put his pasty paws in her face.
Posted by: Nonaikenfan2 on 11/21/2006 07:37 PM

can't stand skinny Rippa and Clay was just being playful, she just can't kid around, she is ugly and stupid and has no sense of humor, plus she never shuts up, the ugly , shinny skank
Posted by: clay fan on 11/21/2006 08:08 PM

This is not an issue of whether Clay is Gay or not. Or whether Kelly talked too much. Kelly just meant that Clays touching her was sexist. NO ONE SHOULD PUT THEIR HANDS ON ANOTHER PERSON PERIOD. ESPECIALLY ON THEIR MOUTH. I WOULD HAVE BIT CLAYS FINGERS OFF. He could have said something, but touching someone on the mouth is crossing the line.
Posted by: Stacie on 11/21/2006 08:09 PM

I'm not a big fan of either one of them but I don't think that she made that comment to be homophobic. I did get the impression that she felt like he was beneath her and that Rosie was correct to say that she would not have reacted that way with someone else. I kind of feel sorry for him a little. It seemed like he was just a little nervous.
Posted by: sh on 11/21/2006 08:21 PM

Haven't Clay & Rosie heard of health issues? I certainly would have found it disgusting if someone put their hands on my mouth. But, let's not deviate from the real issue. It was an outrageous sexist act on behalf of Clay. Clay was darn right rude. He should apologize to Kelly. Rosie should be on Kelly's side. Certainly Rosie would not have tolerated such behavior from anyone.
Posted by: mari on 11/21/2006 08:47 PM

Kelly indeed was doing all the talking and she should let Clay be part of the show also. But, really who wants a gay guy hand on her mouth.
Posted by: we on 11/21/2006 09:03 PM

Rosie should get over herself! Everything is not about homosexuality.
Posted by: guess who on 11/21/2006 09:07 PM

Kelly Rippa is starting to act like Kathy Gifford. Making and issue out of a non issue. She could have handled that thru her producers. She never shuts up. In reality it was a very funny young show. She just lost control of and immature host with no experience.
Posted by: Rosemary on 11/21/2006 09:09 PM

Clay was being rude behind the scenes as well. This is not the first time I've heard of him being a "diva"...his celebrity has gone to his head. Kelly talking 100mph is par for the course. There was no need to put his hand over her mouth. Really, that kind of gesture should be reserved for when one is hanging out with friends. This guy is just a real tool.
Posted by: Tricia on 11/21/2006 09:22 PM

Rosie has basically implied that Clay is gay. He's tried repeatedly to hedge that particular question, and Ms. O'Donnell has just brought it up again. In coming to his "defense" she has done him a disservice.
Posted by: Nick on 11/21/2006 09:28 PM

he had been shaking everybody's hands in the audience and every creepy thing that people unknowingly does with their hands if Clay put his hands over your mouth would you lick your lips after that? knowing that when you do lick your lips you are licking everything that Clay has touched. Gross!coustesy should have taught Clay to wait his turn
Posted by: Karen on 11/21/2006 09:54 PM

Kelly should get over herself and admit that other people including Regis has touched her face and even kissed her. So he made a mistake big deal. I agree that Kelly does talk too much and she really thinks she is the cats pajamas.
Posted by: Joyce on 11/21/2006 10:28 PM

I think there is plenty of blame on both sides. Clay should know you don't cover the mouth of someone you hardly know. But he did seem nervous and not quite sure of how to jump in and talk. She should have picked up that he wanted to participate and should have laughed it off. She's got more experience and should have taken better control of things to make everyone comfortable.
Posted by: Marianne on 11/21/2006 10:39 PM

I dont' think that Kelly remembers that she did the same thing to Regis at least 2x that I 've seen. Talk about rude! I've tried to like her, but really, she's shallow to a fault and is so oblivious to Regis. She comes off as obnoxious. She needs to get over herself and not taint Regis' show any longer.Clay was OK, just frustrated with her usual antics.
Posted by: Humanity101a on 11/21/2006 10:39 PM

I don't really have any particular feeling toward either one of them. I don't think Clay was being rude, he looked nervous and it was like he was trying to be funny about Kelly not letting him talk. I think it was just a bad joke. I think Kelly went about it the wrong way, but I agree he shouldn't have done it.
Posted by: dontcare on 11/21/2006 10:45 PM

Clay Aiken was RUDE! Kelly should have slapped him. Who is he to think he has the right to put his hand on her mouth? Rosie O'Donnell should get off her high horse and stop making everything that happens in the world about homophobia! I'm glad that Kelly called the view and had her say. Kelly was right and Rosie was WRONG!
Posted by: Joann on 11/21/2006 11:19 PM

I'm not really a Clay Aiken fan, but I have to say that I don't really think he was that rude. She didn't seem to like him, and if it had been anyone else, she would have played it off, instead of trying to make him look bad. I mean, she did ask about 5 questions in a row w/o stopping for breath, when they obviously have the cards so that they can each ask some questions.
Posted by: Anonnymous on 11/22/2006 12:03 AM

Clay wasn't being rude so much as assuming too much familiarity by covering Kelly's mouth. She would do the same thing to Regis but they have an established relationship. She was probably bored with Clay as a co-host and that action sent her over the edge. I love Rosie but she over-reacted. Sad that some of you couldn't make a post without gay bashing. Get over yourselves and grow up.
Posted by: MF on 11/22/2006 12:09 AM

I think she was insulted that she was paired with him to begin with. She wanted to show she could run things by her self. I think they were both wrong.
Posted by: Scott on 11/22/2006 12:22 AM

Also, if you are on a show like this and just spew out whatever is on your mind - day after day after boring day - you've got to be an idiot to begin with!
Posted by: Scott on 11/22/2006 12:24 AM

If it would have been anyone else, she wouldn't have acted that way-Put her on the show with Jeff Gordon and she if she reacts the same way. She's homophobic whether she wants to admit it or not. I know her humor on that show and at times it's "risky" for early morning. I think she enjoys seeing herself in the camera. It's all about her.Be a mom, KELLY GO HOME!
Posted by: HMM on 11/22/2006 12:29 AM

Clay needs to grow a backbone & learn to speak up when he wants to be heard. I don't let my kids put their hands over my mouth. And for Rosie-way to try to make a headline out of nothing. If Clay was black, would she be calling her a racist too? Oh-I forgot, she only cares about gay rights. Too bad Clay has never actually admitted to being gay. Nice one Rosie. Who's being judgmental here?
Posted by: jessica on 11/22/2006 01:30 AM

Kelly was right to correct him. He has been reportedly the worst gay diva by other stars and comediens like Kathy Griffin. He is a Diva and treats women like he is Amarosa. And about Rosie, she is being way too opinionated and is no longer funny. I would rather stop watching the View.
Posted by: LMM on 11/22/2006 01:47 AM

I saw the show and was surprised that Clay was so obnoxious throughout it. I couldn't believe it when he put his hand over Kelly's mouth. I don't know anyone who would not have reacted that way! Kelly, you did right and keep on defending yourself. Rosie should shut up, she obviously has a chip on her shoulder!
Posted by: Andi on 11/22/2006 01:53 AM

Kelly wins. Hands down. And nertz to Rosie. I would punched him in the face on live TV. PS, Kelly may be a motor mouth, but everyone in New York knows Kelly is a lady. Clay looked like the rube of the Century. And yes, Rosie did out him in his defense.
Posted by: kellym on 11/22/2006 02:02 AM

Clay is a 'soft spoken' individual and obviously Kelly is not. Given the situation Clay was in, I'm sure it wasn't the right thing to do, however I believe Kelly kept the conversation going, so as not to create a 'lag' in communication. Overall, though I believe it could been handled differently.
Posted by: Lbar25 on 11/22/2006 03:59 AM

wtf? i thought this was bigger than what it really was. rosie needs to relax a bit, kelly ripa was talking quite a bit, and clay was just joking and being immature. i can understand why kelly would react they way she did but rosie took it an unnecssary level. i think that all parties involved should just move on.
Posted by: acaro on 11/22/2006 04:41 AM

I thought Ripa was just P.O.'ed because Clay was wittier then she during the opening segment. She needs to remember this is an entertainment show, they were interviewing dancing with the stars, not Bill Clinton. I thought he was funny and she was boorish.
Posted by: Rod on 11/22/2006 05:33 AM

Kelly was rude to Clay from the very beginning of the show. (of course holding his hand was OK and who knows what germs she brought in FROM her kids). I was happy to see him try to get a word in edgewise. She is too full of herself. She is the one who owes Clay a BIG apology. If I were him I would not appear on the show again unless Regis is hosting.
Posted by: Jennie on 11/22/2006 08:21 AM

I think Clay would make a perfect host on the view no talent and all he would fit right in. I don't know what they were thinking when they put him on Regis and Kelly.
Posted by: Lori on 11/22/2006 09:04 AM

What would Rosie have said if Clay put his hand over her mouth to shut her up on "the View"?
Posted by: GetAGrup on 11/22/2006 09:49 AM

Rosie was trying to turn this into something homophobic for her own benefit.I wouldn't want someone putting their hand on my mouth either! Where was Rosie's mind? I'd be thinking did he wash after he used the bathroom/ coughed/sneezed, etc? Besides, Clay was rude and condescending to Kelly during the whole show! Watch all of it before you jump to conclusions.
Posted by: Liz on 11/22/2006 10:15 AM

Looks like everyone that has a problem with Clay has maybe a girlfriend or wife etc., that must absolutly love him. A little jealously maybe. Just get over it. Society today is too quick to judge and not enough looking in their own back yard.
Posted by: Muzzie on 11/22/2006 10:23 AM

I have never been a fan of Kelly's as she tries too hard to be funny. I thought she was too chatty, as usual, and was not giving her Co-Host any time. I think she blew the episode way out of porportion. It looked to me like Mr. Aiken was joking around. She was rude when she kept putting that tabloid with the cat in his face when it was obvious it bothered him.
Posted by: RC on 11/22/2006 11:10 AM

Kelly needs to shut up and let others talk. She cant always be the center of attention!!! She calls the View and again there are 4 other women who cant get a word in. She wont shut up! Whether Clay is gay or not is beside the point. I sure she touches many things with germs daily!
Posted by: BETH on 11/22/2006 12:02 PM

Wow can't anyone post a decent comment, or atleast spell correctly and make some sense. No one should put their hands on anyone's face to shut them up, it is rude. Anyone that watches a talk show that has 2 or more hosts knows that the way to ask a question is just to jump in and ask it or wait. thats what he should have done. simple as that.
Posted by: sabrina on 11/22/2006 12:24 PM

Who Cares!?!?!
Posted by: Tim on 11/22/2006 01:12 PM

I'm not a fan of either one of them but I do think that Clay was rude. Kelly had only asked 2 questions when he made the comment to her for her to just let him know when he could ask a question. Very unprofessional! Kelly's comeback was rude as well but it's her show and he had no right to tell her to shut up. I don't see how what she said was homophobic in anyway.
Posted by: Bev on 11/22/2006 01:40 PM

Welcome to the world the rest of us live in. This would have been more newsworthy, had they erupted into a catfight. No doubt they both fight like girls - though my money would be on Kelly. Do we really need to hear from Clay that he is gay? It was obvious from the moment he first appeared on national television. No one cares about that, either.
Posted by: Tom on 11/22/2006 03:24 PM

our local news just showed two occasions that Kelly covered Regis mouth. Wow, isn’t it funny how it is ok for her to do it.
Posted by: Rick on 11/22/2006 11:06 PM

It is about time that Kelly keeps quiet. I agree that she has to much to say. Maybe she has been on the show to long.
Posted by: Elizabeth on 11/24/2006 12:43 AM

I wonder why Ms. Ripa didnt go all crazy after Simon did the same thing? He even wiped his nose first with the same hand! Yeah, she is a homophobic two faced big headed loud mouth witch.
Posted by: BS on 11/24/2006 12:57 AM

I would have duct taped her mouth. Good luck on keeping your job Ms. I am a star Ripa!
Posted by: BS on 11/24/2006 01:02 AM

Instead of big mouth Kelly wondering where Clay's hand was, Clay should be concerned where Kelly's lips have been. Kelly is an obnoxious hag who must be good on the casting couch to get where she has with no talent or looks.
Posted by: Fabulina on 11/24/2006 07:01 AM

Kelly's a bitch and someone needs to put a sock in her mouth! I'm not a fan of Clay, but bravo to him for shutting her up!
Posted by: You go Clay! on 11/27/2006 09:42 PM

I am not a huge fan of Clay but Kelly was the one who was rude by slamming him on national TV. If they didn't know each other well enough for Clay to put his hand over her mouth, then the same goes for slamming him publicly and humiliating him the way she did. She does it to Regis all the time, but that's the way it's supposed to be, and they go way back.
Posted by: Rinny on 11/28/2006 08:49 AM

Kelly is a real hunk of bad art and I think she has a yap that just never knows when to quit!! If it wasn't for her poor attempt to be funny, she may as well make no attempt at all!! Regis needs to re-think his co-host like really soon!!! Did it ever occur to her someone else might like to get a word in, after all he was there as a guest as well.
Posted by: Linda on 11/28/2006 12:41 PM

Clay Aiken is an amazing talent and was justified in trying to get an opportunity to ask a question by putting his hand over Kelly's mouth. What other choice did he have? She was rude, arrogant and wrong! I'd like to see a comparison of votes for her vs the votes for Clay Aiken!
Posted by: B.Broyles on 11/28/2006 05:33 PM

I believe Kelly replaced "someone" when she came to the show, she can easily be replaced as well. I do not condone homo sexuality, at all, but he is a human being and should be treated with the same respect she would expect in return! Her comment on national TV could be held as slanderous, never mind the classless, arrogance it brought to the show and Network.
Posted by: Jase on 11/29/2006 12:22 AM

Kelly seems to think she sits on a throne, much like a lot of celebrities who have forgotten where they came from before they were somebody. The only throne she should sit on is the porcelain one in her dressing room.
Posted by: Jase on 11/29/2006 12:23 AM

Having been born and raised in the little town where Kelly grew up, I truly think she has outgrown her pants and skirt, needs to get back to her "roots" as she is the reason I stopped watching the show years ago. I am not particularly fond of Clay but if she wanted to hog the show why did they even bother putting him on with her....She truly makes me ill..
Posted by: Maryanne on 11/29/2006 02:49 AM

I watched the show that day and I will have to say that kelly just wouldnt let him speak so he did something about it. I love Kelly Rippa and have been a fan of hers since all my children when she was a kid. I thought what clay did to her was funny. I think she is just imbarresd and thats why she got mad.
Posted by: teresa on 11/29/2006 12:06 PM

I was in the audience that day. I shook Clays hand. I had the flu but we had it planned for months to be there. I realize I shouldnt of shook hands with anybody but it was an opportunity to meet celebrity
Posted by: Kevin Austin on 11/29/2006 06:31 PM

Where has Kelly's mouth been?!
Posted by: Ripped on 11/30/2006 04:35 PM

Not being rude. He wanted 2 talk. His expressiond said that alot. He worked 4 his dream and took alot of crap from jerks who say he's gay. He has backbone 2 put up with all that and perform despite what some think of him. Despite anxiety problems. He acquired his dream despite the lowlives who judge him , yet won't reach 4 their dreams. Don't like him. But don't hate for what you don't know.
Posted by: Dan Flores on 12/01/2006 09:01 PM

I think Kelly is a very nice, down to earth, funny woman who just does not like someone she does not know putting his hand over her mouth. I am sure Clay meant no harm, but it is kelly's show and we all know that America loves Kelly Ripa. By the way, Live is a morning "talk" show and Kelly was only doing her job.
Posted by: courtney on 12/01/2006 09:19 PM

i think Clay was very disrespecfulhe had no right to touch kelly's face he has to show manners he's on live t.v in wich sometimes kids are watching remember kids like to copy what they see on t.v so stop attacking kelly because it wasnot her fault.
Posted by: sindy ulloa on 12/02/2006 02:55 PM

I wish Jack Nicholson had posted. He would have said to Aiken and Rosie "You people are supposed to be so damned sensitive, but I'm dying here. Aiken is and was so absorbed in himself and so is Rosie.. a common trait with gays. If you are not wrapped up in them, then you are branded homo phobic.
Posted by: ron on 12/02/2006 05:36 PM

Straight or gay, Clay Aiken is likely to have used that hand to masturbate, pick his nose, and wipe his hind end. In that case, it was completely appropriate to use it to cover Kelly Ripa's foul mouth!
