Clay Aiken's Personal Hell

Clay Aiken is so busy with his Spamalot schedule that he has no time for anything else. And that includes going out in NYC, one of the best nightlife cities in the world.

"The only reason people go to bars is to get drunk and have sex. To me, bars are what hell is like."

So while the rest of the world is sitting at work dreaming about happy hour, Clay would rather just hang around with his dogs. He also mentioned to New York Magazine that he thinks he has no sexual urges. What kind of nonsense is that? I think that costume is messing with him. Someone get that boy a Viagra and a jager.

Why all the Clay hate...what has he done to you people? Truth is...in the picture in this article he is mean't to look like a crazy character like "Willie Wonka" in that outfit and horrible, long, red wig...it is from the campy, tacky finale number from Monty Python's Spamalot on Broadway...he was fantastic in the musical and he played 4 parts with 4 different costumes...and, the comment about the web cam footage that proves Clay was cruising the net looking for men...the footage they are talking about turned out to be television footage of Clay in bed, just getting up with bed head and mugging for the camera that was shown as part of a montage on American Idol 2 in 2003...and, the comments this article uses from Clay about how he does not want to go to bars come from an unrelated article from 2003 when another reporter was bullying him asking him why he doesn't go out and partake in the wild life...pardon him for being a nice guy...geesh people...get a life and stop looking for something where there is nothing...

Clay never said he didn't have a sex drive...he just exercises something that many people haven't heard of called SELF-CONTROL! I'm 27 years old and I completely agree with what he says concerning "turning off" those sexual desires. If that makes us "freaks" in a world were anything goes...I take it as a compliment.

You people need a hobby. Clay Aiken has been all over New York viewing the sights, takes in plays when he can, and eats out with friends constantly. He has been seen and pictured with Tyra Banks, and his band members more than once at a restaurant. He only meant he didn't hang out at bars and troll for one nighters. He KNOWS not everyone does that, and never said they did. All those nasty rumors are just that and have been recanted publicly by the one posting the camera shots. No one believed that garbage for a minute, except those who already had it in for him. It baffles me why the media is out to "get" this really wonderful, supremely talented guy. Isn't it about time the good guy won??? Does he have to be on drugs, sport tattoos all over his body, wear nose rings and tongue studs and prance around half naked to get respect?? Pathetic!

Drake everyone gets a day off. So their is no excuse for him to not take in the sites and he does not have to drink at a bar that's a personal choice, and he does not have to have sex with anyone that is also a personal choice. He can go hang out hit the social scene and then go back home and get humped by his dogs. Whatever floats his boat,but don't act as though he's not trying to come off with a attiude lately. He acts as though he is better then everyone and I am personally turned off by it. I don't know where he get's off doing something like that when he was not even good enough to win American Idol. In my opinion he was nothing then and he's still nothing now.

Maybe Clay's just exhausted after a long day of rehersals, the play itself and sometimes interviews. I hate the bar scene myself so that's no biggie either.

JD are you assuming that NYC is all night life? the culture scene does not part take at night(museums, plays, opera house, etc). NYC also is a great place to go shopping you can choose to do so either by day or by night. He could also go check out some other tourist places like the Statue of Liberty, take a cruise on the Circle Line or go to Ellis Island to get some knowledge about his family history. The fact is he's just extreamly closed minded.

NYC is a great place to visit, but its night life is definitely not for me and lots and lots of other people. Quit trying to put an ugly slant on his interview.

Not everyone that lives in NYC enjoys going to bars. I lived there while in my 20's and my friends and I detest going to these meat markets. Different strokes to different folks.
