Clay Aiken has finally come out to confirm the worst kept secret in Hollywood – that he is in fact gay.
"It was the first decision I made as a father. I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn't raised that way, and I'm not going to raise a child to do that.,” he told
People magazine.
Clay and his platonic friend Jaymes Foster became parents via in-vitro fertilization just last month. Clay, 29, went on to say that his new son Parker will be raised in a home that is "accepting and allowing him to be happy."
So how did his mother handle the big news? "She started crying. She was obviously somewhat stunned. But she was very supportive and very comforting." Even now, Aiken admits, "She still struggles with things quite a bit, but she's come a long way."
