Clay Aiken Came Out For $500,000

October 01, 2008

Would you believe that People magazine actually paid $500,000 for the rights to publish the first pictures of singer Clay Aiken and his son Parker?

Those editors must have thought they scored a major gossip scoop when they revealed the worst kept secret in Hollywood...that Clay Aiken is gay.

It turns out that OK! magazine was originally in negotiations for the very same article, but eventually backed down.

"We did bid on the Clay story but thought it was just all right, not phenomenal. We were in the running, but then Kent Brownridge (editorial director) passed," a source for the magazine said. It was probably a smart call on their part.

C- list is correct. Clay adamantly refused any payment for the story or pictures. In fact Jaymes was horrified to think that untrue story was being told. Where do you get your bad info from, Perez Hilton??

You guys have it ALL wrong ! According to Jaymes (the baby's Momma and good friend of Clay's) there was absolutely NO monies changed hands . There were several magazines interested in the story , but they only wanted to go with People and did not want , nor consider payment for it ! PERIOD!
