Biography

American martial artist and actor Chuck Norris was born on March 10, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma. Norris joined the Air Force in 1958 where he learned the art of karate.

By 1969, Norris had established himself as one of the top martial artists in the world and was named "Fighter of the Year" by Black Belt Magazine.

Norris made his acting debut in The Wrecking Crew, starring Dean Martin. In 1972, he appeared opposite Bruce Lee in Way of the Dragon.

Over the years, Chuck starred in several action films including Missing in Action and Delta Force. Norris starred in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger on CBS for eight years beginning in 1993. Most recently, Norris was an outspoken supporter of Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

Jessica Simpson isn't the only celebrity in Iraq today. The one and only Chuck Norris is there too! He decided to make the trip after soldiers erected a shrine to Chuck at their base. It's only made of cardboard, but hey it's the thought that counts!

The shrine is emblazoned with Norris facts all over it. And these aren't your run of the mill Chuck Norris "facts", like these: Guns don't kill people. Chuck Norris kills People. There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live.

Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits. There is no chin under Chuck Norris' Beard. There is only another fist. Chuck Norris uses pepper spray to spice up his steaks.

Sgt. Joe Lindsay says the jokes all add to his legend, and that they're not derogatory. Norris himself has visited Iraq on several occasions, and was made an honorary Marine last year. U.S. troops insist his support for them and Norris' invincible image has made him their idol. Sorry Jessica. You're second in line.
