Christina Hendricks headed to Australia for an interview to talk up her new line of glasses, when an interview for Sydney’s Sun-Herald called her fat.
Ok, I’m paraphrasing; the word “fat” was never used. Basically, interviewer Kate Waterhouse called Christina “full-figured” on two occasions in the interview and each time, Christina gave her an “omg did you just call me fat” look and refused to answer the question.
“How does it feel being an inspiration for full figured women?” was the interviewer’s first offensive line of questioning, to which Christina just gawked at her use of the word “full figured” and simply said “I don’t know.”
Then the interviewer thought she didn’t hear the question so she said it again!
“You just said it again!” says Christina.
Christina then turned to her publicist off camera and we can hear the publicist telling the interviewer not to ask any questions about her weight.
The interviewer then regained her composure and apologized and then asked, very awkwardly, I might add: “So, tell me about this event tonight.”
E! News later reported that Christina was heard telling people backstage, “I think calling me full-figured is just rude.”
We think Christina is sick of being the poster child for “curvy women” and probably wants to get asked something other than about her weight. We don’t blame her.
