Someone forgot to practice before the big show! Christina Aguilera has issued an apology for messing up one of the most important songs of her career.
She was asked to sing the National Anthem yesterday at the Super Bowl and she totally f**ked up the song by fluffing the lines.
Instead of the correct line "O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?" she repeated an earlier line with a slight variation, singing "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming."
Now Christina has released an apologetic statement saying: "I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
Christina has been hitting the booze pretty hard since her divorce and some critics were quick to blame her performance on her recent party lifestyle. Apparently after she passed out at Jeremy Renner's birthday, her crew has been trying to get her to go to rehab, but she won't even allow the conversation.
While Christina was licking her wounds, the Black Eyed Peas kicked ass with their 10-minute halftime show, playing a number of their biggest hits before being joined by Slash and Usher.
