Is Kanye Crazy??? Isn't that what they tried to say about Dave Chappelle??? You see, when you begin to make too much sense, "The Powers That Be" want to conveniently call you "Crazy". MTV's Video Music Award show was horrible, save for performances by Chris Brown, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Nelly Furtado--other than that, the show suffered from poor production and direction. The Cafe Lounge performances were only shown for seconds...Sara Silverman, who is usually funny...only had a few good lines...followed by ass kissing of Paris Hilton, obviously out of sheer and complete fear of the Hilton family thanks to behind the scenes backlash from her last award show attack on Paris at the MTV Movie Awards...and Britney, well...clearly they knew at MTV that Britney was not ready for her performance, based on her rehearsals, but they put a visably high and or disoriented Britney Spears on stage anyway, just for the press. And yes, Britney may have given the awards lots of press thanks to her sad performance, but it not only damaged Britney's career, but it damaged MTV itself. It made MTV look like just what it has become, unprofessional and without integrity!!! MTV has become nothing but a Reality Show Channel--and drastically bad reality shows at that. If MTV wants to create a reality show channel, fine. But the main MTV channel should return to being a music video channel, supplemented by classic...and new live concerts, music films such as Purple Rain, Depeche Mode 101, The Beatles' Help and so on--plus, classic videos, music news and entertainment magazine shows, etc. Also...if MTV loves TRL, a sort of Disney Channel show meets music request show made for teens...that is also fine. Make a TRL Channel and go for it, but that shouldn't be on MTV!!! MTV, as it currently stands, is dead...and should be cancelled...and certainly its executive and creative staffs...should be immediately fired for unprofessional and negligent incompetence!!!
