Report: Billy Joel & Christie Brinkley's Daughter Hospitalized For Drug Overdose

Sad news to report: Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley's 23 year old daughter Alexa has been hospitalized after she allegedly had a drug overdose.

A female called 911 from Alexa's New York apartment telling emergency dispatchers that she had "taken pills" and was having difficulty breathing, reports Radaronline.

Alexa was taken to New York's St. Vincent's Hospital where a NYPD sources say she is "conscious" and expected to recover.

Investigators at NYPD are saying the suspected drug overdose may have been part of an attempted suicide, according to Radar.

Alexa has reportedly been having a hard time dealing with her parent’s personal problems. Last year her mother Christie and stepfather Peter Cook made headlines after Peter's cheating scandal went public.

Earlier this year her father Billy also went through a divorce from Katie Lee Joel.

Luckily Alexa is in "stable" condition and is expected to make a full recovery. It's so sad that the family has to deal with this right before the holidays, and it doesn't help that the entire world now knows about her personal battle. So sad. We wish her a speedy recovery!

For someone who is blessed with lots of money versus a lot of regular citizens who are not, why would she do such a thing? I find it highly sad she would want to end her life earlier than necessary because of her more opportunities to do things compared to the levels of poverty who are restricted in many areas of life.
