Christian Bale Is a Troubled Soul

Christian Bale's former assistant is Harrison Cheung says he's not surprised by Bale's recent family problems. Cheung, who worked for Bale for ten years, says he bests describes him as a "troubled soul."

He said: "I am sure he is mortified by the publicity he's generated this week with the row between him and his mum. But it was a row that has been years in the making."

"Christian is not a bad soul, just a deeply troubled one."

He added, "People say Christian is a great Batman because he brings a darkness to the role," he commented. "But I know the real Christian and I know the darkness is not an act."

It's hard not to believe someone who worked so closely with Bale for ten years. That's the price you pay for fame though, everyone waits until your sitting on top of the world before they try to tear you down.

I am deeply saddened that a CPA (Celebrity Personal Assistant) would speak of such personal matters. When you claim to run someone’s life, wouldn’t it be your responsibility to bring the confidentiality agreement to your employer? As a personal assistant you are in such close proximity with your employer that a confidentiality agreement is an absolute necessity. Although this is an unfortunate example of a personal assistant, the majority of assistants are moral and ethical people who take pride in their work and would never think of betraying a current or former employer. My blessings and support to Mr. Bale and his family during this difficult time.

It's ironic that Cheung, who carped when Bale asked him to sign a confidentiality agreement, now betrays him by going on and on about the actor's personal life. Since falling from Bale's good graces, Cheung has taken every opportunity to badmouth his former friend and employer, even so far as to write a pseudo-memoir "fact fiction" book about an assistant's relationship with a movie star. Make no mistake, Cheung has done Bale few favors over the years, and he himself alienated a lot of Christian's fans while running his fanclub. I've met both Bale and Cheung personally, and Cheung not only shares the actor's alleged narcissism, but is an obsessive, pathological liar.

Having said that Christian has a troubled soul, I think most of celebrities have at least somewhat troubled souls or whatever. On the other hand, it is also very sasy to say we are all good-hearted inside. Right? Honestly.. Let's just face it. He was just so unlucky and happened to be a huge star.

I would never listen to anyone's opinion about their past employer, no matter how long they worked for them. You never know why they are no longer working there and why they left. Hard feelings might be playing into it and their "opinions." Not to mention that they are trying to catch some spotlight that isn't their own. No loyalty whatsoever.

He is an AMAZING actor and I want to see MORE of him... There aren't many like him out in Hollywood anymore thats for sure!!

it's funny the way the whole media thing snowballs, this is the worst they have to say about him! he had a big row with his mother and sister and has a few problems! sounds like every other human being to me! if he was media shy before he will probably spend the next few years living under a rock, I hope he can manage to laugh the whole thing off!
