Despite the films poor performance at the box office, it didn’t stop Bale from landing the role of Theodore Laurence opposite Winona Ryder in the classic flick Little Women in 1994.

After co-starring alongside Nicole Kidman in Henry James’ The Portrait of a Lady (1996) and the romantic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1999), Bale got his big break as well as his first starring role as Patrick Bateman in the cult classic American Psycho (2000).
