Some celebs bulk up for a role, lose some weight, maybe brush up on a foreign accent..but other celebs take their movie roles VERY seriously. So seriously in fact that they do some weird sh-t, like bleaching their eyebrows, living in a homeless shelter, or refusing to eat food for months.

Check out the weird prep work that some celebs did to win a role.

Rooney Mara: In order to get the role of Lisbeth Salander in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” Rooney Mara had to get her eyebrows bleached, her hair chopped off, and her lip, brow, nose, and nipple pierce all on the same day. She called the multiple piercing visit, “very intense.”

The Dark Knight Rises trailer starts with a monologue from Michael Caine, then a reaction shot from Christian Bale, followed by “from director Christopher Nolan.” You shouldn’t even need to see any more to get on board with this. Yet there is so much more to look forward to.

Bale, along with Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard and Joseph-Gordon Levitt star in the flick.

The best thing about this is that you have eye candy like Marion Cotillard and Christian Bale, and that’s not even remotely the most exciting aspect of it...

If you have a degree in Film Studies and/or Literature, you can go ahead and take it out of its frame and flush it down the toilet now.

American Psycho, the 2000 psychological thriller starring Christian Bale, is rumored to be in talks for a remake by Lionsgate. And the worst part is, its original author, Bret Easton Ellis, wants it to star Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ reality star Scott Disick.

The horror.

Disick bares a striking resemblance to Bale’s character in the movie, mostly because he’s a WASPy looking White dude who slicks his hair back. When Kourtney Kardashian’s baby daddy heard the news, he Tweeted:

Most child stars are just that: Children who got famous before they turned 18 and then disappeared forever, never to be heard from again (i.e. Jonathan Lipnicki or the little boy from "The Shining") Or the child stars get an ego by the time they turn 11 and completely turn into adult sh-t shows (i.e. Danny Bonaduce, Corey Feldman).

But some child actors have actually made a comeback. These former child stars are actual, normal, real life actors now. It's almost like they were never child actors!

Neil Patrick Harris: NPH had the potential to become such a forgotten child star. He was so popular playing the child doctor on "Doogie Howser M.D." that his crash and burn could have been epic. However, somehow he overcame the pitfalls of starring on a show about a teenage doctor and the campiness of that show actually made his popularity as an adult even better. When he first appeared as Barney Stinson on "How I Met Your Mother," he became even more popular because everyone was like, "Hey, it's that guy from Doogie Howser!"

If you're completely unattractive, I have one trick that will make you instantly good-looking: move to another country. Because people love a good accent. Bradley Cooper speaking French. Sofia Vergara speaking, period. Accents make hot people hotter and not-so-hot people worth a second look.

Accents are beautiful, and sometimes actors have have the difficult task of faking them for roles. Sometimes they're awful, but we're focusing on the good ones. Here are 5 celebrities with the best fake accents.

Heath Ledger: Heath amazingly transformed his Aussie accent for so many of his roles. And his performance in Brokeback Mountain really made me believe Ledger came from from hill folk.

Cameron Diaz recently described her ex, Justin Timberlake, as a “bad boy.”

“He's great at making fun of himself,” Diaz said. “But if you're really a true nerd, you can't really make fun of yourself that way, you have to be aware of it. He's a bad boy."

Despite the fact that he likes to strike his badass pose—his chin down, eyes looking mischievously up at camera—Timberlake doesn’t strike me as a bad boy. He certainly has the bark—grabbing Mila Kunis’ breasts, being frank with interviewers, bragging about pot smoking—but he still comes off more Chihuahua than Pit Bull...
