Chris Hemsworth was born on August 11, 1983 in Melbourne, Australia and is the middle sibling of actors Liam Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth. He made his TV debut in the TV series Guinevere Jones (2002) as King Arthur in two episodes before landing more screen time in the TV soap opera Home and Away as Kim Hyde from 2004 to 2007. After leaving the show, Chris moved to the land of the entertained to heighten his career and soon made his Hollywood big-screen debut in Star Trek (2009) as George Kirk.

Around this time, Chris starred in the thriller A Perfect Getaway (2009) and the comedy thriller Ca$h (2010) as Sam. His breakthrough role came in 2011 with his portrayal of a hammer-wielding god in the superhero film Thor.
