Chris Hemsworth. biography
Chris Hemsworth was born on August 11, 1983 in Melbourne, Australia and is the middle sibling of actors Liam Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth. He made his TV debut in Guinevere Jones (2002) as King Arthur in two episodes before landing more screen time in the TV soap opera Home and Away as Kim Hyde from 2004 to 2007.
After leaving the show, Chris moved to the land of the entertained to heighten his career and soon made his Hollywood big-screen debut in Star Trek (2009) as George Kirk.
Around this time, Chris starred in the thriller A Perfect Getaway (2009) and the comedy thriller Ca$h (2010) as Sam. His breakthrough role came in 2011 with his portrayal of a hammer-wielding god in the superhero film Thor. He beat out his cast-mate Tom Hiddleston for the part as well as his younger brother Liam Hemsworth.
Chris went on to star in the horror thriller The Cabin in the Woods (2011) and reprised his role as Thor in the action film The Avengers (2012) alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson. Later that year, Chris played The Huntsman in the action drama Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) with Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart, followed by a starring role as Jed Eckert in the action flick Red Dawn (2012).
Chris' most recent projects include, Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), the biopic Rush (2013), Thor: The Dark World (2013), the crime thriller Cyber (2014), the drama In the Heart of the Sea (unknown release date), Snow White and the Huntsman 2 (2015) and The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).
