Your summer heartthrob has arrived. Chris Evans stars in the upcoming Captain America flick, and I think it's safe to say—the man is going to melt the screen.
Evans worked out rigorously to get in shape for the epic role. Hollyscoop caught up with Evans at the Captain America premiere, where Evans told us the body transformation was "nerve wracking."
"You want to make sure you do it justice," Evans told HS. "We did about four months of training for two hours a day."
Evans also told us how he feels about taking on the role of a legendary superhero:
"For the most part, the character represents good. He does the right thing."
Yeah, yeah, good and morals and honor and all that. Let's get back to those abs.
"It was brutal," Evans has said of preparing for the film. "I'd walk out and I'd be like, 'I need to vomit. I hate this trainer. I hate this movie. I want to go to sleep for a week.' It was just relentless. I've got a fast metabolism and I lose weight very quickly, so for me to get big, it was just eat a lot."
Eating a lot? Sounds awesome.
But Evans disagrees. "Working out sucked, eating sucked more. You get to a point where you just can't even look at another piece of chicken. You're just so bloated, but you just have to keep consuming protein, so that was tricky."
As far as I can see, it all paid off.
