Rihanna and
Chris Brown are reportedly taking a little breather from each other right now.
A source close to the couple says they’re “taking a break.” If you know relationship language, you know what that means!
E! News reports that the two aren’t formally broken up, but they have decided to spend time apart; Rihanna is currently in New York, while Chris is in LA. He’s reportedly working on some new music, and has been occupying his time by being in the studio.
A source close to him tells E! News, "He's just putting ideas down for some songs he wrote. He needs to feel like he's moving forward."
As for Rihanna, she was spotted out twice in the last few days. She enjoyed dinner with Brandy,
Beyonce, and
Jay Z at the Spotted Pig in NYC on Thursday night, and was out again with friends at Da Silvano on Saturday night.
This is probably a good idea for the two of them to be apart right now. Even if they did make up, it seems inappropriate for them to be together when Chris is facing possible jail time for allegedly beating Rihanna.
We’ll find out soon enough what really happened that night before the Grammy’s, but until then, we think they’re making the right choice to keep some distance.
