Chris Brown has been denied.
The singer and his attorney were petitioning to end his supervised probation in court on Thursday. The probation stemmed from his 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Their basis was that Chris has “made great strides” to improve his life. I guess he threw that chair out of the window of the GMA building out of sheer happiness and utter delight.
Brown’s probation officer gave the singer a glowing report, adding that he’s passed all required drug tests and completed half of his six months’ worth of roadside cleanup, manual labor and graffiti removal. Are we still removing graffiti? I thought it was ‘art’ now.
Anyway, Judge George Lomeli denied Brown’s attorney’s request. Chris wasn’t present in court on Thursday. Since the assault, the singer has completed anger management courses as well as domestic violence counseling.
In 2011, a different judge lifted a restraining order that prevented Brown and Rihanna from contacting each other or being in the same vicinity.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Chris and Rihanna took full advantage of that lift, apparently getting it on in secret. “They can’t get enough of each other,” a music industry insider told Us Weekly. That insider added: “I don’t see it ending well.”
Brown is set to perform at Sunday’s 54th Annual Grammy Awards, and of course, Rihanna will be there performing as well.
Chris is currently dating model Karrueche Tran. "He and Rihanna are just friends," Brown's rep said. "He's not cheating.”
